PAST: melb cruise 28/06
Hi All,
I'll be the first one to post... top cruise today. A very big thanks to Mikey and his girlfriend for the great food and top location for the BBQ, and also for organising this event. Everything went smoothly on the way down to Torquay. We found it very amusing hearing cows on the princes fwy all the time!!! That air-horn was the funniest thing on the road! Also funny seeing Dan's hands clinging onto the camera out of the car window taking pictures at 100km/h! Pity about the traffic heading into Lorne, although we made it amusing enough for each other. We detoured down to Eastern beach for an ice-cream and to stretch our legs, then down to Williamstown for some dinner. Nice finish to a great day. I have pictures of most cars and some good ones of the road...esp Dave's car. Yeah, I'll try load them up somehow! Bring on the "Wretch is finally on the road cruise"!!!! Cheers, Bill |

Yes, it was a fantastic day.... A big thank you to Mike and Dani for the food, and Jeremy [Dutchy] for the slab of coke! It was rather entertaining along the "GOR" on the way to Lorne.. some of us decided that there were some good [if limited] areas to pass the slower cars that were sight seeing along the way.... Jimmy_Z was behind me in the black Jap-spec V6 and I loved that passing of the 4WD when there was a Prado coming the other way    She took some nice defensive action and nearly ran herself off the road! Only 2 piggies were spotted, which was surprising.. And there was also a mention of a fixed speed camera but heading back there wasn't any obviously positioned so that we could see them.. I guess some of us may find a pressie in the mail in the next week or 2 if there was even one there.  I will advise of when I have put the pics I took up... Cheers Adam

Again,
Thanks to Mike for organising the day. A job done well is a job done well, it was a great day out. Sorry that you guys got caught behind the slow (oooooooooooh look, there is another tree) traffic. I was lucky enough to get about 60% through before some 4wd sucked the fun out of the road by putting along at 30km/h. Just at the end a Lazer (honary Astina) and I broke free and raced another 15km. Passing cars 3-4 at a time needed to be done as 60km in a 100km zone was not acceptable. Fun, fun, fun! More, more, more! Now, now, now! Rod

Alrighty then! My Digital photo galleries are now up! Go to http://au.geocities.com/mrpayner/astinagt.html to see them... If clicking that link doesn't work, copy then paste it! There's mostly photos of when the cars are parked, but there are just a couple of the twisties too! I am looking forward to seeing Dan's photo's as his camera spent a lot of the time out the side of Trav's car window!
Enjoy them... Adam

Oh...yeh....Rod. Geocities doesn't allow remote linkage unfortunately. I may need to put that pic onto another server so it's viewable on these pages..
