Arrow BG - toping up the radiator

A quickie question?

My baby uses about 1LT of water every 200k's. I only do 'around town' driving, sitting on 50kph speed limit but do take her out on a 20k drive on open road every couple of weeks to burn the cobwebs off.

I was just wondering if it is normal for BG's to use a little water? I've never had this before with previous older cars.

A few months ago, I replaced the thermostat. The radiator appears to be OK!?!?

thanks heaps

Kez

have a look to see if there is a crack on top tank of the radiator... they crack pretty easy and the water just evaporates from there.

Hmmm! OK, thanks. will look tomorrow in daylight. I replaced the radiator cap not all that long ago. Maybe I have the wrong one????

Thanks for the idea.

i dont think 1L per 200km is normal.

i've lost 500ml in 180,000km.

OUCH! I thought I may have a prob. BUT WHERE?

Your post is what I am used to. All my cars for 30 years has never had this evaporation or whatever, before.

I will check my radiator in the morning for cracks, although, I have already looked but, possibly not looked close enough?

Could the cap cause problems? I really am hoping it's a simple solution. Don't we ALL

Cheers & G'night (I didn't realize how late it is)

Radiator is OK! from what I can tell. No cracks. No leaks.

What now? except top it up with a litre of water every 200k's. I must explain...200k's takes me a month to clock up. I use very LOW mileage. My baby lives in the country and mainly used as a shopping cart. Backward and forwards @ 50k speed limit *sigh*

But I can say, when I do open her up, I have my fingers crossed, there are no cops around. <gigglesnort> These llittle BG's go like the powers of piss )

check the hoses + seals? if you're losing that much there is definately a problem somewhere
