Welcome Have you any pics of the engine bay set up? That's a mighty big turbo on a 1.8
Have you checked out the Dizzy & other elects for faults? How long have you had the car? Is this a new thing?

Dizzy Cap means squat. The ignition module is part of the distributor & easier to replace whole distributor than fug around with module unless you are soldering savvy & know what to do.
Also could be the idle speed sensor. Trouble shoot All the best

The turbo wont affect starting. Unless someone left the a dust protection rag in the turbo inlet/outlet ..
I'd say the timing is out. |

I thought OP's question was concerning car in general. Not necessarily Turbo. Just that he had the BPT model?

Could also be your cold start tune...
Id take it to a tuner and see what it does. (Presuming you have an A/M ECU with a turbo that big on a 1.8L)

Have a look on the fire wall for one of these \/ \/ \/
It's the fuel pump controller for the BP turbo.

Could you by any chance upload a vid of what the car sounds like, I'd probably assume timing or vacumn
