1990 Mazda Astina BG - Problems with headlights
I'm having a bit of trouble with my lights. When i turn the car on for the first time the lights pop up and work fine. If i turn them off they won't turn back on.
The lights do work when i turn them on and press the pop-up buttom. I replaced the switch but it didn't fix it. What could be wrong? cheers |

I'm actually experiencing the same problem. It seems to happen every second time or so.
Lights on....no pop up, then i press that button and up they come and they're on. *Awaits replies* |

It could possibly be a headlight relay playing up.
I'd start by getting a multimeter and testing if the relays are getting an input voltage, if they are and the lights are not working there is your problem. You can also stick your ear beside the relays and get someone to turn the lights on. There should be a click from the relay if all is ok. I have seen many cars where the relays have got corrosion on the terminals and cause this problem. |

Is the relay for the lights under the steering wheel/dash?

I think they are on the fuse panel under the bonnet near the battery from memory, but it has been a long time since I owned my BG and it didn't have pop up lights.
