1996 Astina Hardtop 1.8L ventilation controls

Hi folks,

I have a Feb 1996 model astina hardtop 1.8 L auto. Sometimes the Heating Ventilation Air Cond controls changes postions by itself.

What happens is, if you select say Face postion for your ventilation flow, after a while it then suddenly jumps to Demist function for the front windscreen.

Is there any faults or does someone else have that sort of issues with the car as it was a common ventilation facial with other mazda models of the era, i think the 626 had the same HVAC face unit.

Any help would be appreciated here.

G'day and welcome.
I've never come across this in an Astina. I have seen similar in other appliances.
I'd remove it, pull the facia off and clean the contacts down with metho.

Welcome

Weird - it's all electronic. Could be one of the buttons not disengaging properly.
