(BJ hatchibakku) Interior parts painted
how my middle console looked like before
i spent quite an amount of time to paint some interior parts.. the way to the final results (which i'm very pleased with) was very very hard and time consuming.. i guess i wouldn't do it again pic3: south american din pocket (not the same as the north american one) painted with the same silver as the surrounding bezel and gave it a felt floor inside so things in it won't make any noise. pic4: you know that there is some fine channel between the inner and outer part, impossible to paint properly,so i took some black fineliner felt tip pen,"painted" this channel and put clearcoat over it the outer section is painted with a flake effect anthrazite btw. hm what i can i say? it was the first time i really painted parts "the right way", so the results are indeed very good.
the plate and cupholder "only" took me about 1 day, that's because i was able to utilise the experience from painting the audio surrond bezel before (i won't tell you how much time i needed for this, you will laugh at me) i don't know if or how much you're familiar with painting such parts but for somebody like me who had no real idea what he was about to do, it was a nightmare. there were so many pitfalls, so many bad things that happened which always ruined my work and forced me to restart all over again because i wasn't going to accept an inferior result.... i don't even want to think about it anymore,i'm glad it's over. i will never do this again without some "real" equipment like a compressor, spray pistol etc pp... @bourbon:useless,my mobphone cam will make crappy pictures, no matter what daytime it is 8( Last edited by TStar; 09-03-2007 at 04:05 PM. |

nah, dont give up too early, but be prepared that a lot of things can actually go wrong. but do it, you will appreciate the results if you work properly.
