it will, but I wouldn't trust it. pressurised combustable liquid through a 50 dollar chinese object, its possible, your performance might even be... *cough* explosive? ...

...

.

Ok I'll give up trying to be a comedian for work. Have a look at the fuel pressure regulator/malpassi FPR sticky thread in the main performance forum, lots of good info there .

why bother at all. FPRs are just band aid job is you do not have a tuneable ems. i'd spend your money on something else that'll get you better gains.

wait... SE7EN do you have a BG yet?

Your profile states you have a KE laser, what condition is it in? lasers can be quite fun as well. Have you also considered spending the money on buying a BG astina in fixing up your KE?

from the ford laser site. yes i know its a tx3, but from what I can remember the front end headlight swap is easy to do.

What $1000 could mean (plus say $2000 you had ready to buy a BG with) for the laser

* all new sports suspension, bushes, some steering and other bits. $1250
* Tint, aftermarket steering wheel, short shifter (maybe for that car), some small alloys with new tyres, brake pads and discs. $1300
* a really good home service $110
* seat covers and a REALLY good detail. $75
* TX3 front grille setup $100
* Catback exhaust $400

If your planning on getting a BG with a loan, I'd suggest you use that $1000 to pay off the loan. Don't modify the car until you pay it off, less debt is worth more than a better looking car. Just be careful with what you do, don't pay too much for a BG (its still just a 17 year old mazda). Probably best to save up the money to buy it in full with cash. And make sure the engine is in good condition the one pet hate I have with mazda B series engines (well the 1.6 laser KF, and the 1.8SOHC) is the head. once it gets a bit worn out and the smoke from the valve seals comes on, its really annoying. plus they are usually fairly tappy engines. (dont let the tap scare you off its fairly normal, and is even in the BG astina owners handbook! )

lol no intention of doing anything to the laser, incidentally though, we drifted tonight, baking tray style. (mcdonalds was closed ..)

any ideas on what to look for on ebay in the way of short shifters?

maybe this?

again - not worth doing yet. buying these $100 items here and there isn't gonna help with the over performance of the car. do the big items 1st ie:- suspension, exhaust etc before you start spending 100s on little things for 0.5% gains.

Lol does it seriously mention it in the manual? My engine usually taps for maybe the first four seconds or so after turning on but after that it's sweet.

YEP! mentions something about it tapping for 10-20-30 seconds is normal and it will stop eventually. I've never had tap problems running 10w40 though, only 20w50

20W50 might be too thick for the lifters, untill it warms up anyway..
