got the astina yesterday. runs well except for suspension, a grinding sound in left front wheel especially when slowing down and when it idles at 500 revs it clicks like mad, like an electric shock.
anyone had any problems like these and solutions?
cheers

Give it an oil change (for your engine I would recommend Castrol GTX2 20w50, plus a new oil filter) and a dose of nulon lifter free and tune-up or equivalent. Should fix it right up.

While you're at it you should check your spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, and tyre pressure and replace as necessary.

LOL, doesn't sound like the tappets it sounds like you have some foliage in the fan. I can't help with a BG but if it was a BA I'd poke my head under the passengers side of the dash and find the fan, pull it out and remove he offending material.

If you turn the fan off does the noise stop?

its not th interior fan making the noise cause when I put the revs on a bit, it stops. thought it may be the alternator but meh.

Btw your idle should be at 750+/-50 in neutral at operating temperature with the electric cooling fan off.
