Need help please

HI everyone.

First of all I must apologize if this is in the wrong section.
Just did the Pedders suspension check and have come back with a quote of 2535.00 inc alignment.

My question is is this a bit steep or does it sound about right.

I have no interest what so ever in anything other then just getting the car up to scratch at this stage and back to comfy and don't have any particular knowledge or tools on working on it myself.

Is it possible to acquire these parts cheaper and have them installed elsewhere (recommendations in Melbourne)
What would be the first things you guys would replace.
He suggested Rear shocks and bump stops.

Front:

Shocks - Recommended upgrade L/H slightly soft.
233.00
233.00
Strut mounting plate - Broken - Rubber cracked or separated
242.00
Lower Control Arm & Inner Bushes - Rear bushes broken. Front bushes soft
148.00
284.00
Sway Bar Links - No Preload
55.00
55.00
Engine Mounts - Front lower bush broken
154.00

Rear:

Shocks - Very poor- Require replacement
234.80
234.80
Bump stops - Broken
144.60
Strut mounting plates - Check on dis-assembly
113.80
105.00
Sway bar & bushes - worn require replacement
74.00
Sway bar links - no preload
114.00

Last "Legendary 110.00 Wheel Alignment"

According to the report labor is only 648.00 and parts 1887.00

Really appreciate any help/pointers I could get.

Second that!
Even going to repco... Buying the parts at full price and giving them to any mechanic would be cheaper.

Would recomend shooting off an email to GSL rally sport.
They do great prices on superpro bushes and just generally good prices on all suspension components.

Or call them.

Speak to Greg if you can. He is a legend... And extremely helpful

I'm starting to think that would be wise... Was worth it though getting a quote to find out what's wrong though

I'll check their website later on. Definitively good to hunt around. Thank you.

Funny you mention super cheap I checked out the site but too many parts so probably just best to go in when i get some free time. Not too mechanical minded myself to be honest!
Computers and tech are more my for·te.
Cheers

Any recommended shockers or set up in particular?
Doesn't have to be flash as long as it's decent, durable and comfy.

A whiteline shock an spring setup would be sufficent, or kyb shocks with a decent spring or if unlike stock springs ( depending on sag )

about $300 for bushings.

shock prices sound ok.

i paid about $70 for the front mount from repco. $120 for two front strut tops. (mind you these are NOT listed prices. im a haggler )

you can buy a new swaybar including bushes for $150... so 70 is stupid money for the bushes alone.

btw on these prices you could buy a set of brand new coilovers for the same price as new shocks/bushes/tops... not comfortable for some but that's what I'd do!

you'd easily save 20-30% on the parts if you when somewhere else and got a quote. now you know what needs fixing, the quote will be easy to get.

Other than the Lower Control Arm & Inner Bushes, the rest is all just spanner stuff. Maybe a mechanical mind friend could help you out?

Major service done at home with some help and car now runs like a dream.

Got some rear Monroe shocks as well as bump stops in and a the rest of the parts are here now.

Will see about fronts once the other parts are in.

New gasket seal.

New head unit

Sub and amps are ancient so looking to upgrade soon but would like to do it properly, maybe 4 quality speakers and an amp and then sub/amp later.

Interior is quite loose are there special nuts and bolts kits or will any that fit do?

Tyres are still ok so once I need new ones I will choose some rims;
Would love something dished in dark gun metal or black.

What car would I find a suitable 5 stud conversion from?

Would like to get some slotted and drilled rotors too at the same time.

Got a sudden urge to restore my car now and bring it back to 90's glory.

Anyone know where I can look for front/rear strut brace?

These chrome rings ok to install?

Becoming slightly addicted to tinkering...

Sorry about all the questions, just really excited!
