Headlight problem with BA Astina

Hi Guys

I'm having issues with both of my low beam headlights (both high beams are fine, as are parkers). I changed the bulbs a couple of months ago and they were working fine, then one of the headlights intermittently wouldnt work (a slight tap on the headlight sometimes made it come on)... now both of them are not coming on at all... ive checked the bulbs, they seem ok (though i bought new ones anyway to replace them).

I'm guessing I have a short circuit somewhere in the headlight assembly, i was wondering if anyone has any ideas, or even better a wiring diagram of the BA headlight system....

Thanks
Adam

if it were a short circuit you'd blow fuses

its a loose wire, or probably more likely, a dirty contact, between the plug, and your bulb

I don't think its a loose wire, the dirty contact thing could be a possibility, though they all look pretty clean. I'll have another look at it tomorrow though. I'm pretty sure the problem goes no further back than the connectors to the bulb, cause I tested the output from them and its a steady 12.xx volts.

Cheers,
Adam

Fixed them today. Put in the new globes (Narva Plus 30, which seem pretty good so far) and they are working fine. I added extra insulation (electrical tape) around the connections inside the plastic cover at the back of the light, as i have a feeling there was a short there when the cover was put on and twisted into the lock position.

Anyway, heres hoping they stay working this time!

Cheers
Adam
