Few questions about my astina

I just brought a 1993 Astina. It still has the standard stereo in it. The standard head unit seems to be a weird shape. Is it a standard DIN slot or do I need to buy some sort of adapter plate?

What size are the stock speakers and what size will the doors accomodate without modification? Also is there a stock tweeter location that isn't too hard to reach?

Sorry if these are common questions I'm new here so be nice!

if you are going to upgrade the front speakers. they are 6" shallow speakers. so if you are going to put in shallow speakers without cutting the door cards then the maximum depth of the speakers should be roughly 520mm from the cone to the end of the magnet *before* it hits the glass.

if you do not care about your door card then you can probably just put anything in and add spacers.

the normal BG radio is an odd shape, its about 1.5 din, which means you need blanking plates and all that, and no there isnt realy a spot for tweeters, i screwed mine into my A-Pillar, and also sunk some into my door trims

Thanks Tamass, I picked up the car from getting a RWC today. Not a single thing needed doing and it wasn't a dodgy or anything!

I was looking at the radio again thinking that it was a funny size. Can you buy anything prefab that will fill the space in or will it be easier to just get a double din unit?

I'm not looking for anything flashy in the setup, I've been there done that so don't need a high-end single din unit.

You can buy a single DIN unit and a facia kit to keep it nice and tidy. I'm pretty sure this kit is the same as the one that I've got in my BG, but you might be able to find it cheaper elsewhere.

im fairly sure that the stock 2 din unit is actually 2 seperate units wired together. well in my BA they were.. i ended up cutting the centre bracket out to fit the 2din screen. but if i was to get a 1 din then i would get a 1din pocket as well so it can fit in on the bottom/top and the HU comes with a facia anyway
i could be way wrong but
