Auto 1997 BA Astina - Gear Stick and Stall Issues

Hey all long time no see,

Today I tried to drive my car however the it won't come out of park?

When I try to push the gear stick button in it doesn't push in and therefore won't allow me to move to reserve or drive, I have my foot on the brake when trying to attempt this,

Also when I try to start my car it jutters and then sometimes stalls, it never used to do this? just wondering why it would just start suddenly

For a random electrical problem disconnect the battery and turn on the headlights. Turn the headlights off and reconnect the battery. Don't use one of them radio saver things that keeps the radio powered 'cos it'll save the fault in the car electronics as well.

Once you have it sorted remove the centre console and find the interlock by pressing the brake and seeing what moves and unplug it.

Sounds like the auto-shift-lock on the auto is not getting either foot brake release or even the ignition lock not providing power to release the auto shift lock - shoudl be an over-ride near the auto selector base

the stall could be another of items but i'll just to leak between airflow meter and throttle body.

have you checked your brake lights for blown bulb
some park lock systems rely on the load from the bulbs as a trigger

Just replaced my dead tail light however it hasn't fixed it
Gut feeling is that my amp is drawing to much power going to try disconnecting it and see if it fixes the park lock and the stall issues
