If you look at the complience plate it will have the code, you can then relate that to the factory colour

Mine says 12K what the hell colour is that???
As I had a bit of an accident I now have a passion rose front bar but want it to be colour coded. Looks like a dark metallic blue to me.

get it paint matched, there's a mob near brendale that does it perfectly along with all other car paint needs. i think their off brendale rd, dunno the name though, only ever been there in person.

they take your fuel filler cover, and spot tiny bits on paint on the inside till they get a perfect match.

12K in 1999 was Twilight Blue Mica, according to my Mazda color swatch book.

In 99 that was on the BJ 323, 626, MX5, B series, and Eunos 500 & 800.

Yours might be Aquarius Blue Mica (12R) - it's more like your Blue. But apparently that was only available until June 99 on the 323

22A must be post 99 as it's not in my book!

Now im just getting confused... It looks like they'll have to colour match the colour so its right... Not that im overally concerned, only thing i really want to paint is the eyelids, but they can wait a couple more months when I do the whole frontend (bumper & bonnet).

It just doesnt seem right that mazda put 22a on the paint code plate, yet it comes out to be a silver...

These are the colour codes and descriptions from the European Mazda EPC for 1989-91 323's (3,4 and 5-door)

DV - Bay Blue
PZ - Brilliant Black
SQ (might be SO, hard to read) - Blaze Red
UF - Clear White
1H - Steel Grey Mica
1S - Niagara Silver Mica
5D - Harbour Blue Metallic <----this is the colour of my daughter's Astina
6N - Current Blue Metallic
6S - Exceed Green Metallic

The EPC doesn't distinguish between different versions, so presumably all colours were available across the body style range. I can look up other model/years if there's any interest.
