Rear seat tilt button and mechanism is in a different location. Not sure about rear side bolsters (that bit that doesn't fold).

Hardtop button is at the top of the seat (as is the latch), Hatch is at the sides from memory.

Door trims are the same.

Clarification - Hardtop button is top of seat in the centre of the 'headrest', hatch is at the sides of the top of seat.

the latch on the seats is to the side , about 2/3rd of the way up and maybe 1.5" in I think ? The button shouldnt matter if they're in the same place, just the latch.

I dont know where the hardtop one is. Nor whether the side paddings are the same. They could be!

Just checked mine, Hardtop latch is about 2" down from the top centre of the seat.

So you might be able to swap the latch mechanism, but if the button is in a different place...

so then the question is - are the trims interchangeable ?

could the hardtop trim be taken off the old seat and attached ( some kind of staples I think ) to the hatch seat ?

You'd really need the 2 cars together to find that out.
