The following posts will include details on the times, the official meetup points, the cruise itself, maps, lists of attending members, the lunch stop, and any other ideas useful for the successful running of this event.

OFFICIAL CRUISE DETAILS!!

What? The Annual AstinaGT Cruise 2006

When?
Saturday 28 January 2006

Where? Sydney to Berrima, taking the Princes Hwy through Wollongong, and the new Sea Cliff Bridge that has just opened. Have a look at this Map for a rough idea of the route we'll be taking.

Time? Cruise will begin in Thornleigh at 9am, meeting at Heathcote Maccas about 10.15am, Wollongong approx. 11.30am, then lunch at Berrima about 1.00pm. Give or take. After lunch the cruise will continue for those interested, more photos taken at a nearby park, and if people are interested we can organise to have dinner and drinks in the area before heading home.

Who? All AGT and OMC members and partners/friends. Please bring yourself and friends who will enjoy a day out with the Club - make sure you add them to the list. Especially those members who haven't attended a cruise before, this is the one to be on! You don't have to have a Mazda to attend (I don't).

Eating? Lunch will be at Berrima at the Surveyor General Inn. Read later threads for more information.

Meet up points?
9am, leaving 9.15am - Thornleigh Maccas,
leaving 9.30am - Homebush P6 Carpark (will need someone to volunteer and coordinate this meetup point),
10.15-10.45am - Heathcote Maccas (near BP servo) and
11.30am - Wollongong (near Ten Pin Bowling Centre, Bellambi St, Russel Vale)
Arriving Berrima: approximately 1pm.

What to bring? A clean sparkling car (obviously!), friends, UHF handheld radios/CBs (channel to be determined later), camera + batteries/video camera, sunscreen, water, money for lunch, an E-Tag if you are heading _home_ via the M7, a full tank of petrol and a good sense of humour!

Erm, I was under the impression we were heading NORTH.

I have booked accom in Sydney on Friday night and Saturday night but I will be coming halfway home again for the cruise?

Friday:
Drive from Canberra to Sydney
Saturday:
Drive from Sydney halfway to Canberra then back to Sydney
Sunday:
Drive from Sydney to Canberra

I figure this is my fault because I haven't checked in on the details regularly lately.
And I have already booked accommodation.

I don't know why, but I could have sworn we were all going north.
I am going insane, ok insanerer

Not sure if we will be cruising but we will be in Sydney.

Kitty! *shaking head* Well, it's all sorted now lol

Great to hear you are coming Braxta!
We're going to be meeting at either Engadine Maccas or an Oval. Nate knows more about it, so i'll get more details off him.

Lunch!!

Now, time to inform you of our lunch plans.
LUNCH

Earlier on, Arden mentioned a great place in Berrima called the Surveyor General Inn. I have been tossing up between this place and The White Horse Inn, but felt the Surveyor had a better meal deal and also a nicer setting for a large gathering of people. The White Horse Inn require a $200 deposit which is non-refundable. So....with that, I just called the Surveyor Inn and the lovely lady will be setting aside approximately 30 chairs for the day in the Beer Garden!!! And if it's bad weather, she's going to book the private function room available for us. Ah, country people are so nice

The Surveyor General is the oldest continuously licenced inn in all of Australia, built in 1834, so it has a very interesting history to it!! It is set on the Old Hume Hwy (Berrima's main throughfare) and has a fantastic beer garden (yah! the Beery!) where we can eat from their yummy Bistro Menu (Prices have changed slightly). Please have a look at this and have a think about what you would like on the day, as there will be a lot of us ordering all at once. And for all those carnivorous lunchers, there is a Cook your own on the BBQ, so you get it cooked how you like it - still mooing?

Hoping to arrive between 12.30-1pm for lunch, so we have a couple of hours to eat and relax on the lovely lawn, under the trees, sipping on light beers or soft drinks for our P drivers

Now for everyone thinkin "Where will I park my car?", I too, have that figured out! For those people who don't want to park on the main street or outside the Inn, there is a little lane way beside the Inn (on the right hand side) that leads to a carpark behind. When i was there on Sunday, both carparks were full, BUT across the road, opposite the Inn there is a grass area where you can park. It's a bit "off-road" so if you are fully-sick low, then I suggest parking on the street.

So I hope all of you are starting to feel peckish or are licking your lips in anticipation of our lunch stop - lol well, I am! And I hope this arrangement pleases everyone. If anyone has any dietary needs, please PM me and I will pass it on to the Inn.

Can't wait for the 28th!!

The cruise was initially going to be north and it was going to be on Australia when i was organising the cruise, but due to the bitching between users, I kinda lost track of what was going on with the cruise and i left it for a while to calm down.

I have since organised a cruise with the people on Oz Mazda Club which is on the central coast and on the 26th, since your already in the sydney area come and make a treak up the coast with 33 other mazdas, its bound to be an awsome day and its shaping out to be as big as the cruise i put on last Australia Day with Astina GT posibly even bigger.
