Seeing you have already chopped the door trim, to stop the window hitting the back of the speaker, just get some MDF spacers from your local audio shop, will push the speakers out about one cm and fix the problem. I had to use them to put my fronts in my BA. I think i have a pic here somewhere, i'll post it up if i can find it

Edit:

Can't find the pic, but this is what i used http://aerprohifi.com/list.php?pcode...th&cat_sno=242

They were $10- 15 from memory

Err just realised this may not work as the window winder may foul on the speaker

Will this be an issue on the SP as well, with electric windows? I hope to do mine soon too but I'll probably need to make spacers out of mdf since they're 6.75" with the covers on.

I had no problems screwing my huge JL Audio 6.5" speakers into my front doors in my BJ Astina.
The fit with heaps of clearance.
But I do remember on my old BG 3 dr 1.8 GT having the same issue and i used the cover mounted on the back of the speaker as a spacer.
That way no holes were cut in door.

so i put splits in my drivers door (so far)

and the window crank is now blocked

is there any solutions to this?

ive thought of putting on electric windows (by using a kit off ebay) but it seems like a lot of work. is it possible to replace the stock crank with a curved one?

did some googling about power windows kits, they don't seem as hard as they look.

picked up a kit for $126 delivered from the states, gotta love that conversion rate

You need speakers with low mounting depth, in my hertz esk165 has this 62mm and this is allmoust max depth. Mayby + extra 3mm, donīt realy member because I installed speakers about 45 years ago.

Edit: Not 45 years but 4-5 years ago , 45 years ago I wasīnt born even
