I noticed in the pictures the building is the same colour as wow and there is also the wow logo on in the background on one of the chairs? |

I installed the same one in my wife’s Toyota couple of months ago and can’t complain about the quality or the features. It does what it should do and have all features of an expensive alarm system. I had to install the central locking system separately as the Toyota didn’t have central locking,

so far I haven’t had any problems and its working great! I'll have to wait and see how reliable they are. But it only cost me $50 including postage, so I'm not really worried about the reliability. Since it’s a passive unit I can’t see them failing so easily! It’s more likely to have a failure in the central locking system (motors).
My BA has a Mongoose immobiliser and central locking installed by the dealer when the car was bought originally. Compared to that I don’t see much difference in wirings or the ignition cut out relay. Not all wires are black (even with the mongoose), they are colour coded and once you use black insulation tape to cover them , they all look black !! |

Random Coding (code hopping) level 3 and 4 systems meet the strict 1997 Australian Design Rules, the use of all-black Engine immobiliser wiring (desirable as it makes wires undetectable).
Two engine immobilisers, bonnet & boot protection, back up battery and ultrasonic movement detectors (excludable via the remote control). These are 1990 Australian Standards Approved. however this one has only, single stage immobilization, and lacks ultrasonics, black wiring, bonnet & boot protection and a master override (hence this model doesn't meet Australian standards). But as I said my mongoose immobiliser (Australian standard) does not have two stage immobilisation or all black wiring! I had a Rhino “Australian standard alarm” system installed in my previous car by an Authorise agent and yet it never had all of the requirements to be an “Australian standard “. I guess it’s a personal choice weather you wanna spend $500-$700 for a so called Australian standard or spend about $100 for a system that will pretty much do the same. Jaycar also sells alarm systems and I don’t think they meet all the requirements to be Australian standard either. So where do you draw the line?? I think it just load of crap to rip off the consumers! |

I doubt the insurance will reduce your premium because of the alarm! I'm with AMMI and nothing happened to the premium.
Installation is straight forward if you know what you are doing. It comes with a diagram clearly marked which wire goes where. The only difficult bit is to find the right wires/connectors to tap into under your dash. You need to spend some time with a multimeter under the dash to locate right wires and connectors. You also need a soldering iron, heat shrinks, insulation tape, cable tie, wire stripper, It took me half day to install alarm + central locking in the toyota. |

it does decrease your insurance,
but it depends on company, car, age of driver, driver history etc... e.g. alarm on my brothers VR commodore decreased his insurance, alarm on my mums BMW Z3 does nothing (stock immobilisers has only ten keys made for it that are stored at BMW factory and even BMW cant start the car without the keys unless they replace the whole ignition system) |
