FS: 2 x SOUNDSTREAM RUBICON 12 SUBS

I've got a mate who's looking to sell a pair of 12" Soundstream Rubicon Subs in their original boxes... Had about an hour's work in their lifetime and are in great condition as far as i know. Anybody looking to set up a new system, make an offer and i'll test the water!

I got this off the net...

12" steel blue powder coated frame, 4-ohm voice coil, fibrous pulp cone, red Kapton former, flat dust dome for greater rigidity, high emissivity coatings, Optimal sealed enclosure 0.75-1.5 cubic feet, Power handling: 250 wrms

I think he's looking for around $250 for both of them... But make an offer.

$250 for the pair? That's a bargain for some quality woofers.

I had two of these subs! they are my fav subs. I would never buy anything but Soundstream for speakers and amps.

I would be interested but I am happy with my stock stereo for now. I am looking at getting an exact 12 hopefully or one of the new model subs they have out.

Stupid Question of the Day time...

yes here it comes....

Are these subs any good as a single unit? I have been pondering the idea of subs but think I would only do one... therefore, would anyone be interested in making a serious/decent offer with me going halves?

Of course it might not work or be possible, but that is why it is.....

*drum roll*

Stupid Question of the Day!!

Firstly, could we try and get a piccie of the units he is selling?

Secondly, have they been used?

Thirdly, can we get more info on them?

Fourthly, CRITTER??????

Fifthly, what is his bottom line on price?

Yes, Nate and I are interested in going halves in these, and you might have a buyer at the right price. So please get your mate to give us his bottom line figure asap, unless you really want us to do the haggling thing? I'd rather not, just get more info and his price.

And I would really like to get Critters feedback on this please?????? My buy will also rely on what Critter has to say (yes I know I gotta get an amp! LOL)

Cheers everyone.

These are good subs esp at that price.

Soundstream is a genuine quality brand and the Rubicon line is worth having for all but the most fastidious or SPL junkie.

They will be fine as single woofer fed by 200-400 watts. They'll handle that on music no risk. Make a STRONG box for them.

One 12inch sub will get plently loud for most purposes. And if you haven't had a sub in your car for a while, the difference is astounding once those bass frequencies come back.

Soundstream gear is quality stuff, even down to their "entry-level" line. I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you end up going through with the buy, but like Critter said, make sure you get a good strong box for it.

I am planning a trip to Sydney soon for the headers and a visit to IKEA, so I can pick up the subs then.......

It will depend on when the headers are ready, I am hoping it will be a couple of weeks?

I am moving house over the next two weekends, so in all possibility, mid March?

That solves the pick up, and we will deliver Nates sub to him in QLD in early April on the Seaworld trip....

mmmmmmm Seaworld

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

Pioneer Amplifier

Hey everyone, looks like i missed out, was looking for a good 12" to replace my over sized 15". But while we're on the topic, jus letting you all know i wanna sell an almost new amp, PIONEER GM X552, it's 100Wx2 max and this amp can be bridged for just the one sub, or will work nicely with a dual voice coil sub, if these rubicon's are dvc. not too sure. I dont have any pic's, but if anyone is interested in matching this amp up with these rubicon subs, or any other subs, i can pull the amp out of the packaging and take a photo. Send me a private messgae with any reasonable offers. I live in sydney, so pick up is available to those of you in the area! Good luck to those of you buying these soundstream subs, i'm kicking myself i didnt read this forum earlier
