How to find correct wires for which speaker

Been reading a bit, & haven't seen this mentioned...apologies if already posted before

This works for any model/brand/make of any car...

You've pulled half the car apart & gotten the factory HU out, & now it's time to wire in the new HU
All them wires which is which?

You've read all the topics here, & figured out what the power wires are...Black = Neg/Earth, Red = Positive, Yellow = Constant Power/Memory...usually the same no matter the vehicle or HU...but what about them speaker wires?

Speaker wires don't usually follow the same colour codes between HU/cars. The only thing consistant is the same coloured with a black or white stripe is negative eg: Purple = positive - Purple/Black (or White) = negative

A simple way to find which coloured speaker wire goes to which speaker is to use a 9v battery, those little square ones you get for toys & such.
Just hook the speaker wire + to battery + & neg to neg.
Listern for which speaker 'pops' & that's the mystery solved

Or just use a wiring harness?

Wiring harnesses are for simpletons.

Cut, strip, twist, solder and tape.
That'll put hair on your chest.

Good post with some good info.
Already knew it all but all good stuff mate.
