installing Koni inserts for BA

Hi, I'm installing the Whiteline suspension on my BA, and after taking out a strut I'm wondering how I insert the Koni shock. The strut appears to be one solid part, with no seam between the shock and the 'casing'. So I'm wondering if I need to cut the strut near the top and remove the guts, then insert the new shock that way?

Any help on this would be great, thanks

BTW, installed the sway bar last week - wow, what a difference, love it

yep, the top of the standard strut has to be cut off (have fun watching it stray stuff everywhere when you puncture it) and the koni inserted inside and bolted at the bottom. Cut it down to the height of the spring rest, too

Thanks Rupe. Just chatted with a guy who does suspensions and he says the same. He reckons could probably do it with a hacksaw if that's all I had.

He also said the most important thing is to make sure the hole at the bottom for the bolt is straight and in right spot.

and also, amke sure the koni's fit quite tightly into the stock strut, as it *may* rattle around the top of where it's cut, and that's bad
