I did the same man, wet road, tight corner... Before I knew it i was sliding and my BJ was a write off
Sorry to hear the same happened to you, I know, it sucks heaps.
I now have a 06 Forester, and love it!
Depends what you want in a car though - I recently had thoughts of changing to a A3 or a R32 Golf, but realistically it wasnt a practical choice for what I need in a car... Look at your needs, and go from there

basically i want something small like the astina that can get me around, and that i can modify and make it look sex.

but then again on the other hand, i dont mind sedans like beamers etc.

as long as it looks good, easy to drive. im up for it.

wouldnt even mind a rexy

Looks like you have done a pretty good job of trying to knock that pole over.....ah well; atleast you are ok, not everyone is so fortunate.......As far as another car; I think RX8's are pretty cool.

IMHO If you want a small car thats practical, reliable with a tonne of aftermarket parts... get a Honda, any civic that hasn't been molested or thrashed.

I would suggest the 2001+ corollas as I own one as a backup car, but to be honest im not a fan of the drive it gives you. Personally it feels like a bit of a barge for a small car, annoying feedback through the huge steering wheel, and not a tonne of aftermarket parts for them. But they are decently quick and provide a nice daily car.

How about a new shape mazda 2! (hopefully they fixed that steering rack issue)

i used to own a corolla with a silvertop 20valve in it, quick as hell but yeh it was bit of a rust mobile.

i wanted to get a civic but they are just wayyy to common. i liked the astina because there were hardly any modded ones around. with the civic its like every corner you turn theres one with hektik chromies on it or fully sick bodykit on it uleh and yeh.

what about a proton?

Frizky: I'm glad to see you're OK after looking at those pics. But I'm absolutely amazed you're already sitting back planning another car to mod that will go even harder. And even more surprised what older and more experienced drivers are recommending you get and potentially ruin next...

This is exactly why we have red/green Ps, HP/L and turbo restriction laws on young drivers! Sorry to comes across so harsh mate, but I haven't seen a voice of reason in this thread yet, and I'd hope that after this you'd now know how easy it is to bonk and lose it all. That bonnet could have just as easily been your passenger door with your best friend or girl behind it...

Safe cars are second only to safe drivers. So if you're gonna play, get good quick or plan for the worst.

Gav.

yeah mate totally understand where your coming from.
i was just thinking my next car i should just leave standard and just maybe make it look good and thats it. i have one point left and i dont want to screw it up you know?
like i cant live my day to day life without a car, it makes it a whole lot harder thats why i need to plan it properly and stuff you know?

but yeah..
what can i say s*** happens.

might just go for a nice BJ-II. something that can get me from here to there

any more suggestions?

Hey Frizky, good to see you understand what I was getting at.

Suggestions for another car? To break it down, look at your needs. Do you need 5 doors for versatility? Is economy important to you? Is reliability a big factor? Are you worried about it getting scratched in a carpark when you're not there? Trouble free cars are your Toyota Corollas (bulletproof/boring motoring) and Ford Lasers. Mazda 323s are generally more appealing than these two, but just get the VICS checked out if you get a BJII.

Cheers, Gav.

E36 or later 318i Beemers are going for cheap money these days, damn nice looking cars and a hell of a lot safer than the equivalent Jap cars, 10k should get you a good mid 90s 318i, a nice set of two piece rims and slight lowering is all that's needed, maybe an M3 front and rear bumper and skirts

Might impress a higher class of girly too

I have one too, with about ~150kW. I meant they are boring in the sense that their interiors are bland with plain moulding and trims. It's not bad, and not offensive, just safely and economically designed. This is why ppl call them appliances or white goods, since they do what they do well, and last a long time.
