Meh, my P5E has some supposedly fancy onboard/PCI-E riser sound card combo, and it's not as bassy or punchy as either the AudigyII or X-Fi Gamer. I've never heard a Xonar yet...

[On a fresh install] I still nailed by the issue first boot after installing the Creative drivers. I turned off my memory hole/mapping over 3GB after that, and did a few updates, and put it back to normal, and then it was fine. Still a pain in the bum...

The IKONIK stuff is produced by a guy who used to work for Gigabyte, he knows his stuff. And the case looks set to make a decent entry, it doesnt include the radiators AFAIK either.
Waters great but you do need to have some skillz behind you for there to be an advantage other then noise related IMO anyways

I ordered the system on monday.
This is it. CPU - Intel core i7-860 2.8ghz HDD - WD SATA 1TB PSU - Seasonic PSR550+ 550w Case - Coolermaster HAF922 DVD - Pioneer SATA 22x OS - W7 HP 64bit OEM Monitor - Samsung P2250 21.5" WS Full HD Ram - G.Skill Trident 4GB DDR3 1600 MB - Gigabyte UD3P Graphics - Powercolor 1GB 4890 All up $1680. I wanted the GTX275 but they're discontinued, the 4890 was it's competitor although not as good, but it's better than the 5770. They didn't have a Seasonic 600w psu so i got the 550w. |

4890s are a very nice card. I still use mine in my i7 rig, can play anything that i have at max so im happy enough with the card
ME2 MW2 Dragon Age: Origins Are the games im playing atm EDIT: Thought id better point out in case you dont know, the 4890 isnt a extremely fast card, it does however shine in AA and AF, as it doesnt take as much of a hit when they are enabled as other cards do. Cant remember the exact reason. But i know there was a fair difference between my 4870 and the 4890 i have now

Everything's going very well. I can see the difference in the graphics (BF2) from my old computer to this one.
The most i've seen the CPU work is 20%, RAM 61%. |
