Mmm,
A bar in South Melb, I think I know an intersection without one  (but I may be wrong). I know the area but don't know the venues and would enjoy treking in for an evening out. Rod

Guess what Adam....
We aren't in town on the 20th, we are in wuverly Taswegia... But we do actually arrive in Melbourne on Thursday 18th December, haven't organised accom for that night yet. As for how long do you have Dan, you have between now and the 18th/19th December to figure it out. Oh that how long? I'm not telling you how long that is..... ops: Aaron can tell if he really wants to brag 8) OK OK 2 NIGHTS!!!!!! But then........ dadum dadum dadum There is the return trip from Taswegia too!!!! We come back on the 5th of January ::YaaaaaaaaaaaaY:: *goes off like a frog in a sock* If all these drinking establishments of ill repute are so close to our accom. then Rod and everyone 'may' be able to park cars in the Motel???? We can walk / stagger / crawl  And Adam, you better get your ass down there on Friday nite otherwise you will be in the litter mate!!! Get someone to pick you up, get someone to call you a taxi ~ heck I will call you a mule.... ready? "you're a mule!" Just get there somehow!!!!! C'mon Melbourne, put on your best red dress and show us what you've got!!!!   Cosmic Rod: you better be wearing that hat!!!!!!!! |

It will be worth it, we probably won't venture to Melbourne all that often.......
So then...... What's it going to be folks? How are you going to entertain us? And Aaron and I would like some idea of a cheap form of accomodation for the Thursday night please? It doesn't have to be central or anything, we will be leaving Canberra on Thursday and I will probably be as organised as Dogo  so somewhere heading into Melbourne from Canberra is fine. Then Friday we will mosey on in towards Sth Melbourne, have lunch, do the tourist thing, run amok...... Any suggestions for Thursday night accom? No YMCA, RSPCA or Salvation Army suggestions required, but cheap and cheerful would be nice! Clean is a MUST! If only you had Formulae 1 Motels!!! Not asking for much am I  |

We have the Friday night booked for the nice place in Sth Melbourne, we just want somewhere cheaper and easy for the Thursday night.
Thanks for the info, will try and look them up and see if I can book in there for Thursday night. We will prolly want to get out of the car and shower and relax as soon as possible after such a long trip. We were even contemplating staying over in Albury or something and cruising in on the Friday....... Will ring the Ibis though and check out their costs...... but considering the budget I have for the whole Xmas trip and we will need accom coming back from Tassie too etc. I think I will try for economical where I can..... But we are still staying in Sth Melbourne Friday night, so we are close to the Ferry terminal for the 0730hrs time we have to check in on Saturday morning!!!!  :? |

aha!
as adam said, there's the formule 1 place on the Hume just as you cross the western/metro ring road...that'd be probably a good place for you to stop after the long trip. I say crown - plenty of bars - and plenty of fun to be had at Barcode or Galactic Circus -...actually - how good are you at bowling drunk?

Bowling?! haha, sounds good... i've never bowled at crown... i'm sure we can spend some time at the tables getting to know the dealers too  not that we gamble!
Kitty, do you guys board at 7.30am or just check in at 7.30am? I go riding down beach road (the road where the boat is) at 8am, so i might meet azza and yourself at the ferry for a morning chat. |
