Nitrogen Filled Tyres??

Hey all quick question..
My Tyres are filled with nitrogen or hyrogen what ever it is.. so it can reduce the wear of the tyres.. But now my tyres are flat..

1. Can i put air in the tyres althou there is nitrogen in there - can i mix them?

2. If i wanted to inflate the tyres with nitrogen, do you have to pay to get more put in?

Can you Help me..?

who suggested you do it? i dont no how it will effect the ware on the tyres as they are still moving on the road...air/nitrogen/gasoline/hydrigen or what ever you use in them will still ware at the same rate as it all matters on how you drive the car and how much pressure you put in them...

hmmmm yeah...thats for track and race cars...keeps the heat in the tyres...street cars you dont really need the heat that race cars do...

Yes you can put air into nitrogen filled tyres.
Last I heard it cost somewhere in the range of $20 per tyre to fill with nitrogen.
IMHO the cost vastly out weighs any benefit.

Keeping your tyres at the pressure printed on the tyre will reduce wear and keep them safe. Somewere around the 32-36psi range.

if you add up how often you would need to fill it it doesnt make any difference in price...they are just tryin to get extra money out of people...if your racing i would suggest you do it...not on everyday street tyres...

i agree with burbon,
if you are racing nitrogen is good but for everyday driving its a waste of money.

also what they say is true it will reduce tyre wear coz nitrogen doesnt heat up as much as air. so for the first so many km's of driving your tyres will be closer to the recommended pressure when using nitrogen then air. however for everyday use there is no need to use nitrogen.

I don't know about other people, but I'm happy with about 72% Nitrogen ...

Yep but oxygen is smaller that nitrogen so you probably have a wee bit more than 72%.

As for the rest of you please stop talking about racing, you give people the wrong idea. AGT is about enjoying your Astina in a safe and responsible way.

As far as my knowledge goes, tires are filled with nitrogen to stop expansion. Air expands when heat changes, meaning that the tire can change it's shape slightly which may effect contact with the road and wear. As a student pilot, i know for sure that we do this in aircraft for that reason. Aircraft tires are filled with nitrogen to prevent swelling in adverse temperatures and dynamic pressure. Nitrogen prevents potential mid-air blowouts and creates less stress on the tire....

please define 'air'... you'll find that the atmosphere on average has somthing like ~75% nitrogen anyway.

well nitrogen filled tires can mke a dramatic change in tire size for instance we dont run nitrogen in the fords and then run them 5mm under the lowest legal ride height and then in scrutinering after a raceit is well over it does make a huge difference if ur going to really use ur car

So if the tyres are not on a race car or an airplane the only difference it makes on a road car is how much it costs to adjust the tyre pressures.

i have nitrogen in my tyres.....DO NOT MIX with compressed air.....its meant to stop tyre heat compression as the tyres heat up.....it does do alot but i say it doesnt outweigh the cost ($12) a tyre.....check for leaks and if your tyres are bald this would not help.....
