KLZE is a mazda engine.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mazda_K_engine#KL

Hiboost make a kit, not sure if PG is just reselling that kit....but $5k for a turbo kit vs bottomless pit of money adapating an engine that was never meant to fit in the car....hrmmmm.

not really no.. but plenty of people stateside.

Snertspeed runs a HIBOOST kit in his SP23 and has had little or no problems with it from what I can gather. You may want to shell out for a better ECU because all they give you is fuel control.... full ignition control is obviously important if you are chasing big numbers.

wow those turbo kits aren't cheap, then again 160Kw from the 2.0 Protege is a big boost with stock exhaust and only fuel management. I'm guessing the US$3,800 is why you stayed NA lordworm? you must be getting close to 160 NA now

i'm nowhere near 160hp...let alone 160kW (that kind of number is almost impossible NA on the 2L....unless you can get it spinning to F1 engine speeds!).

Kit isn't expensive when you think it comes with just about everything except engine internals you need to turbo it.

yes BJ

Microtech, big cams, open exhaust for track, minor intake modifications....a stack of unbuilt/not installed parts sitting in the garage waiting for me to pull my finger out and do something with.

never had the thing on the dyno... i pull 15.2 seconds on the quarter mile at just under 90mph.... but thats not a great indicator really.

How much power can you get? well.... thats sort of related to how much money you have to throw at the problem. 100hp per L of displacement NA is certainly possible on most piston engines - but the FSDE and FPDE (2L and 1.8L) would require extensive amounts of work to get it to happen.... as for the 1.6L i don't know... i've never played with one, or spoken to anyone who has done serious work to one.

Well yes...

Exhaust, cams, EMS, intake, the list is endless, also stops with how much you want to spend

What motivated that comment after a month? EDIT: Disregard, I just saw the "other" thread!

Did you just do a dyno(or time) stock vs TE37's? If so, howd it go?

I'd reeeaaally like TE37 15x6.5 but can't afford it. Maybe Enkei RPF1 15x7, but I'm not sure if either will fit. +35 outside the fender or + 41 too close to the strut mount.
