'nother newb

Hey.

I've been lurking around for a few weeks now on the various mazda forums (but I like this one the best )..

I have a more or less stock ba p1 in red and auto. And I'm on my red Ps. (awesome!! ugh.) Bought it from some dodgy dealership, had the car for like, a week, and the cv's crapped out. *rolls eyes*

I'm not planning on doing too much on this car, cause I will be getting a manual ba p3 in a couple of months time. All I've got in the works is sound deadening and stereo, tinting, new brakes and shocks. Okay, I don't really know what I wanna do on the BA. Kinda new to cars too.. But AGT has been most helpful already, and I've got some reasonably mechanically minded peoples to help me out.

Anyway, Hi from Sydney.

Hey mate, welcome

I reckon if you're gonna get a manual Series 3, it'd be a good idea to hold off all the mods and put it into the new car. That way you get to enjoy them for longer

phly; oh, well that would be sensible.

I think I will be keeping both cars. I don't like driving manual in peak hour traffic..

Welcome to AGT

Why a P3 in particular? P1s a better for performance orientated mods (due to a stronger gearbox)

I bought the p1 about 8 months ago.. it had around 180k on it, for 6K. I had to fix a lot of things on it.. like I said.. the cv's went. About a week after getting it they started making that horrible noise on every single corner..

not friggen happy, but that's what happens when you are young and female and buy from some dealership.

really? I *thought* I read that somewhere, but I couldn't be sure..

I was thinking the p3 as they're ever so slightly younger. I guess that doesn't really matter if the car wasn't looked after in the first place. My p1 wasn't. At the time though, there weren't many in Sydney available and I needed a car.

swap the G series box in the p1 with the F series in the p3 and you'll be laughing.

hatch or hardtop btw?
