Injen CAI's

I was at Jetspeed Newcastle today making some final plans for my kit and i noticed an injen box sitting there. Anyways it turns out they they deal in injen parts and got colin to enquire about the cai for my car and it sounds like it wont be cheap, but they are renowned for there sound and dyno proven power gains.

I helped him put the cai on the customers car and we started it up and i was quiet impressed by the sound of the injen.

Anyways howmuch does an injen CAI generally cost to get for our cars.

The hissing sound they produce under constant partial acceleration is unreal. It's kind of like a slight wastegate spooling sound as you build up speed. Add to that my previously gay sounding exhaust seems a bit more mature sounding now, atleast from the inside of the car...

$400 is the go,
Gav.

just watch for the ebay stores severely overpricing shipping and sending it via surface. although the service was **** beyond belief, the place gav got his through was the cheapest i could find. www.importcarpartsplus.com (i think)

apparently the one im looking at is a new product and its considerably dearer than the ss kit, i have looked into it and for me to import the same model that i can get through my mate im looking at about 575 bucks delivered to my door and could be waiting for up to 4 weeks. Plus i dont have a credit card and am not overly keen on using the internet to tranfer money, so if just have to stick with my mate.

it an injen but apparently it is made by a new light weight metal that cools down alot quicker than stainless steel, but still has the bling bling factor. I have been quote simular money for the stainless steel set up as many of you have paid which is around 400 bucks.

Maybe the new fancy thing is s/s steel with a high polish like my OBX headers (had)?
Injen charge so much already, those farkers shouldn't rip us off any further!

aluminium does the job. there's no way on earth a different metal could justify that price increase....the ally pipe they use would be worth under $10 at a guess, for stainless probably $20...

think about how much more work and material is involved in a set of headers and you realise how much of a rip job cai's are!

The only bigger ripoff than the Injen is the K&N Typhoon, I've seen it as bad as almost $500usd!!! Other than that, AutoEXE is consistantly the single biggest ripoff merchant I know on a range of products...
