BG Power Windows...

OK so its no surprise that my window clicks all over the place but i want to know, does anyone's BG drivers side window switch AUTO button work? mine has never worked with the auto function but the normal function works fine....for anyone who doesnt know what the auto button does...you press it nce and the window goes down automatically. chers

yea mine works but my drivers window CLICKS LIKE CRAZY!!! ARRGH! its like one of the gears is missing some teeth or something.. so sometimes i have to push it up a bit, but ever few cm going up it makes THE loudest clicking noise and scares all the passengers away...

anyone know how to fix? is that ur prob zappy?

Does this clicking correspond with the window slowing or refusing to go down?

My drivers window waws doing this for quite a while. I made a few attempts at fixing it whilst still in the door and was eventually successful after pulling the motor out and doing it properly out of the door. I put a post up on fordlaser.com when I pulled the setup out and cleaned it up. I'm talking about my BF 323 here, so not sure if the BGs are the same, but my car had a system of linked balls which get pulled down and pushed up. The clicking seems to have been caused by a bent metal retainer which allowed the balls to push out of the track and run into the door, getting tangled up and thus restricting the movement of the window. With the system out of the door, I re-shaped the metal retainer, cleaned up the motors and greased the tracks (although some people have said you shouldn't for fear of getting dirt stuck in the grease) and they run fine every time and are much quicker than they used to be - particularly when the windows are wet!

Cheers,
James
