Thats what I thought b4 then. It suprised and scared the hell out of me. What really amazed me was the fact I didn't even get valve bounce. I just know that I've avoided shifting like that since then. Kinda like my engine configured the way it is. No need to get rid of any pistons etc.

My rev limiter on the V6 cuts in at around 7200-7300rpm. Mind you ..... I've only done it the once just to see if it had a rev limit!

most rev limiters on most efi cars are dependant on actual load sensors. A bit like how auto's will shift at WOT at different revs for different gears.
add to it your tacho can have an easy 250rpm plus or minus in error.
My mx-6 would cut at 6500rpm or 7500rpm depends on how it felt on with the stand alone unit- 6500rpm dead.

BJII J48 1.8 Astina with Twiggy sticks, exhaust(baffled muffler tho, due to wifes dissaproval of the extra noise after the cam install), part tuned emanage, 1/4 tank and myself. Did 4 runs and came up with an average of 9.5 sec. Hardly impressive, considering the money spent so far. The datalogger showed my gear changes take about 0.8 sec, so I could probably save some time there, but I try to be gentle with the gearbox.
EDIT: New best time of 8.6sec with new intake and exhaust and shifting hard.
BTW, my speedo overreads by 2% (with 195/60 R14s) and the emanage is different again, so I actually need to read the time at 105kph on the datalogger.

That is awesome Rupe, i thought the 3MPS was the poo, as is the best thing on four wheels. Like the look, not as much as the BA hardtop otherwise I would have one but for speed and the like it is a nice peice of kit.
So easily quicker or just?

WRX played with me last night, had it all over me but stayed behind and gave a courtesy wave as he turned off, think I suprised him. No speeding though, just off the mark stuff.

I need more power. There isn't many things worse than getting a perfect take off, awesom shifts and being side by side with an equaly matched car and seeing the other guy pull away. Heartbreaking that is. Hate the part when you are waiting for your powerband to kick in and the other guy gets it a split second earlier. Its all over then.

Like you rupe this happens on a private stretch of road opfcorse.

I need to get rid of my dead spots. Touch the pedal and the car launches pushing passengers back into their seats, push down a bit more and it is like hello waiting for something to happen. Squeels tires in second but then nothing.. Like it is starving for air or juice, have a K&N on with cold air feed to box, might have to check the fuel lines, filters and pump. Dont get me wrong still pulls well but not as well as I feel it should. Isnt it funny how you can do the 0-100 really clean so many times but as soon as you go to time it you stuff it.... Was absolutly appalleddddd... 13sec Take off was slow and sluggish, missed third all together and hung in neutral for a split second while trying to find it.

with .4 G ! Oh what a feeling

G meter on a tarago? hehe.

The company Nissan navara diesel did 0-98 in 30sec into wind one day, 103kph downwind. Would not go any no faster! LOTS of black smoke. 1,500m of empty runway to cover in a hurry(obstruction removal) and all I had was a tired old diesel.

Well - mine makes tons and tons of smoke, does that make it really fast - dont all fast cars make lots of smoke out the back?

dunno how fast my 94 stock ba hatch does it, nut i know it gets to around 120 quick enough to give mates a second thought as to its girly nature (cant be stuffed stopping at 100, i stop when the gear runs out - speedo is 3-4k higher to actual speed) ill get a mate to time it next time i have some fun
