G5M-R Transmission Synchro Rings
Hi all,
I'm currently in a bit of strife with the manual transmission in my Astina. 1989 Mazda 323 Astina SP BG Hatchback 1.8 16V DOHC G series transmission The 5th gear synchro ring has broken and I have been unsuccessful in locating a replacement, or even a replacement transmission entirely if I have to. Just completed an almost full rebuild on the car (literally everything), so I can't really back out and give up now. I believe the transmission is a G5M-R Transmission. Does anyone know where I can obtain internal transmission parts for this car? I don't care if it's internationally...however I am located in ACT, Australia. Hoping someone has any suggestions on the matter. GP. Last edited by Gp.; 25-06-2018 at 08:48 PM. |

Mazda should be able to sell you one, but they'll probably quote you 6 weeks +
Otherwise a synchro from a BA (BA11P1) should work.

if it has a 76kw bp (or B8) engine, then it isn't the dohc version. so it wont have a g series gearbox in it. it will have a f series gearbox in it.

I have a G series transmission but haven't been able to find a 5th gear set or just the sync ring alone as of yet. |
