Just to bump my age old topic, turns out that the local repair people have been approved to repair the car, and that it should be ready by this Friday!

Anything to look out for when I go to pick it up?

When did they start the work do you know? I'd be very wary of how rushed everything will be to get it done in 3 days, make sure everything is perfect before leaving...

Talking from experience check for:
runs in the paint, Paint on the seats or carpet (over spray) all doors panels line up, all lights work and electrical items still work, if you have subs etc they work Etc
Generally just look to see if you can tell if has been damaged cause thats what the next buyer is going to look for.

Cheers Cass

I'm fairly sure that they started working on my car sometime last week, but they had a hard time conveying that to my insurance company (so when I asked my insurance, they said that they were still waiting on a quote).

Make sure they do a proper job, take it for a small drive and listen carefully, test teh steering.

My car had issues after someone merged on me, and it took forever for them to fix it.

In my experience:

1. If they say it will be ready in the afternoon, and for some reason it's not ready until the next afternoon, they drove your car into something else and needed to fix that aswell...

2. Don't let them put you in a position where you cannot pick your car up in good daylight. It's harder to see the damage from where they crashed your car in the evening...

3. Since you've had a rear ender, make sure that they have repaired the boot seals properly. You may need to check the spare tyre well periodically to check for water ponding.

4. Check that they haven't swapped out/blown your speakers, fancy air filter, marked your upholstery or put additional km's on your car than otherwise would be deamed necessary. Note that sometimes they have to drive your car to get a wheel alignment or exhaust fitment.

5. Go back to Wolfdene>Tamborine and check that they've done the wheel alignment properly.

Gav.

Just had the lady call me then from B&M, she said that she was still waiting on a rear quarter trim because the one they got in "wasn't up to scratch".

She said it should be ready on Monday, so heres to hoping eh?

Well here it is, the finished product. I am officially a believer in the workmanship at B&M...the pics speak for themselves.

Some minor things, ie sticky mark on rear window and a strange, almost rust like appearence on the trim.

But yeah, apart from that the colour is matched perfectly and its repaired great. Drove it to southport and back this morn and it drives as good as it ever did.
