**** fuel

Okay so I usually fill up with caltex vortex 98 and car runs sweet but last night i filled up with shell v power and since then its been stuttering under load at 4000rpm. It drives sweet with small amounts of throttle and boost and driving normally but as soon as i try boot it it just stutters. Do you think it could just be **** fuel?

Ah man. Full if good luck you are!. Tried fiddling with the ignition, maybe the coil is dying, and that the fuel is harder to burn (which is generally good)so it may be struggling?

I have a brand new Mazda coil you can borrow if you need too.

Cheers man....I'm picking up.my motor today so I might swap over the coil and dizzy until i swap engines.

Also after stuttering for ages cuz i thought maybe it was a blockage and it could stop after a while it ended up overheating. No coolant was lost or anything and it doesn't overheat when driving normally

My 2c - my last car did not like V-power at all but was fine on Vortex and Ultimate, Ultimate seeming to be the best but was a pain to find a servo in my line of travel lol.

Stock Charade with exhaust, for the record.

But it only started happening about 5km after I filled up so when the fuel started mixing in. I've used multiple fuels and vortex is the only one my car likes...no v power, no united 100 octane...what im saying is maybe I got a **** batch like bottom of the tank type stuff

I have found different fuels run differently in my car. I have just run 5 tanks of 100 octane(10 ethanol content BTW) through my car and it feels like a different beast to drive.
I think it may be something to do with me flogging the crap out of my car and blowing all the crap out the exhaust from 10 years being stuck in the city.
I have been told never to fill up my car just after the fuel tanks at the petrol station have been toppped up.
But I have never had fuel that makes my car run that badly.

I know the misfiring caused the overheating so I'm gonna replace the coil and dizzy and drive it...then if that doesn't help I'll run the tank out and fill up with trusty old vortex again and see if that helps. Cuz my plugs and leads look good

i'd be included to check all the ignition system parts before jumping on the bad fuel wagon.

i am curious as misfiring tends to lead to low heat as less combustion occurs. but can only internet diagnose with internet symptoms told.
