More camber then -5 degrees...that's what the cusco's give me....when setup correctly...

Not that I need it for a track car.

Never heard of it but yeah, see you on Sunday.

nah not bump stops...involved is mounting the control arms in a slightly different spot...simular thing to what camber bolts do...

Well if the car gets any lower, Ill need to invest in some adjustable radius rods to adjust bump steer, thats my main concern.

So I got home from work a few days ago, same as always but this day was different. This day the postman left me a little blue slip with some scribble on it and a date and time to pick up some parcels....so off I went...and look what came from JDM land!!!

So I picked them up, scored some weird looks from the old ladies at the local postoffice as I was carting my wheels into the boot of the 180.

As soon as I got home they were unwrapped.

I also got some wheel nuts to complete the package...

Then I thought, wonder what they look like with the wheels nuts and valve stems on so...

Then I thought, wonder If they look any good with the calipers I just built so...

Bahahahaha...

The I thought...I have time to kill....lets test out my missus's new point and shoot camera (Fuji XP WP/ SP)

This is my 1st set of wheels I have ever bought brand new....IM EXCITED!!!

A massive THANKS to Jessie Streeter (http://www.jessestreeter.com/). Not only did he message me and keep me in the loop the whole way through but he did it from Japan with better customer service then I get at the local Autobarn...would trust him with my money again for sure...

Ive got a few more things to grab before I go through with the 5 stud conversion:

Rear:
Upper Control Arm offset bushes (tick)
Toe Arm offset bushes (coming)
LCA Bushes (tick)
Radius Arm bushes (tick)
Upright bushes (tick)
Whiteline Swaybars (F & R) (coming)

QFM Brake Pads (tick)
Custom Brake Lines
Kumho KU36 (255/ 40/ R17) x 4
Cazman Adjustable Castor Rods

And then Im done...

If anybody has experience with putting Whiteline bushes into the arms, let us know. I was told I didn't need a press ( I pressed the OEM bushes out) but Im not sure...

Dont need a press to do bushes just use a vise or multi grips use plenty of the grease suppiled make sure you cover the full bush with the grease or it will squeak -- just like any bush make sure you push it in straight

Got all the bushes and balljoints into the arms for the rear end...

After a bit of a talk with people the general thought was that they are good bushes but the need to grease them was always there...so adding a grease nipple and knurling to the bush was suggested...went alright me thinks...just got a 6 x 1 thread grease nipple, a tap and die set and a dremel cutter.

Ive only "nippled" the upper rear radius arms for now...will do the other this week..

The idea is that I can grease them and the grease is injected behind the crush tube and distributed around the knurling to prevent binding and squeaks...

No worries, the lower offset accommodates for that. I did my research. Ive driven a few 180's with 17 x 9's on the front and the turn in is still awesome.

So had a bit of free time finally so I decided to see if I would run into any fitment issues with the new Kais...but first...

I got these beauties from Greg at GSLRallysports....paid for them at 10am and received them at about 4:30pm the SAME DAY!!!...Not only that, they are half the price of some of the other stuff I have tried (Project Mu, EBC) and are just as good...even better at the track...

http://www.gslrallysport.com/shop/

Awesome bloke and awesome friend...with an awesome shop...lol...thanks mate.

QFM A1RM R33 F & R

The ugly AVSModels 6's on the car atm...

The ****ty S13 brakes setup on the front...what were they thinking....seen better days..

And now for the big guns...

Im thinking a roll at the front and a flare at the back....hhhmmmm

The crazy camber is from the coilover knuckle, I set it to max (-2.5) to see what it would fit like with the top plate on neutral...plus the extra track I get from S14 LCA's (10mm from side to side). The toe out is what I run on the track...I have markings on the tie rods so I can change them from track to street (toe out = track, toe in = street)

Also, trialed the nipple and knurling idea on the bushes with my new grease gun and it worked a treat...grease is dispersed into the nipple around the knurling on out the cut out grooves in the sides...success....

So just got a few more things ready for the conversion...

Tyres are on and balanced...I was very careful not to scratch them when I put them on...245/40/R17 Kumho KU31's for street duties for now.

And got some adjustable castor rods from Dave or Cazman Industries...Aussie own and made...he's big with the Nissan and Toyota kids...awesome bit of gear and cheaper then the Cusco alternatives...

Only need brake lines and sway bars and its all ready to go...just need more $$$$....always...

Farkin awesome Zap! Luv those rims & can't believe you gonna get em' under that Great wheels & great project I woulda thought though 245/35x17 woulda been a better profile to keep the tyres from rubbing?

My 8 1/2" wheels I'm getting will prolly have 35 series to get them under the guards & to miss the strut towers I'm really impressed dude

Nah 40 is easy done with a bit of guard massaging and Im not looking at lowering it heaps...most of the US boys run 255/40's so it should be sweet. I might get abit of rubbing on full lock on the track over the guard with abit of toe out but thats it.

35 is abit of a weird profile...not sure how it would go circuit wise...I didnt want any stretch but enough sidewall to roll over.

What I was really happy about was I didnt even line up the red dot opposite to the valve but they all only needed about 20g of weight on them...good wheel + good tyre = happy jon...

Well I haven't updated for awhile but a big change has occurred...

A few weeks ago I got the last pieces of the puzzle for my brake and hub conversion...

1st off the Whiteline Blade Adj Swaybars, I had to wait 4 weeks to get these, apparently there wasn't any left!

& since Im not dodgy and dont like to cut banjo fittings (you S13 owners know what Im on about), I got some custom lines made up to suit the olive fitted R33 calipers

Once these last few things were in order I took a week off work to chill out and do the conversion properly ( I actually have 38 days in leave and was asked to take holidays...lol) so I got stuck straight in...

I replaced the rear R33 upright bushes with urethane items, this was an awesome job (note: *sarcasm*) and required some burning and cutting to get the old bushes out and the new bushes in...

out with the old...

In with the new...

I then did this...

Then I attached the S14 assy...The only thing that needed doing was the ABS sensor mount was rusted closed so I need to clean that out with some emery and a dremel...

I was going to tuck up the wheel arch wiring but since Im never lowering the car more then it is, I really had no need

I actually dont have any pics of the R33 front calipers on the car, It seems I lost track and just started to bolt **** up...but you know what they looked like...actually I think they may be on the other camera...the real camera...ill upload them later..EDIT: I swear I took pics of the lines and calipers fitted but have lost them...ill take more later on..

Then I decided that since I had a week, I wanted to replace the door pins and bushes as well...

So off came the doors...

& after a few taps and wiggles the new pins, bushes and circlips were in...excuse the poor quality photo...

After the doors were finished and back on the car they lined up better and they didnt sag but the drivers side door still didnt close nicely, after some inspection it was deemed the striker bush was stuffed and needed replacing so $33 and 2 days later this came from Nissan...

Out with the old...

In with the new...

Now the doors close like new, they really do have the new car thud and I dont need to slam them anymore...ITS AWESOME!!!

After the calipers and lines were fitted I tested for any clearance issues..

It seemed all good on full droop so far so good...

Then it was on to the rear, all the new arms with new bushes went on and I greased them through the nipples, worked a treat...then bolted up the rear uprights and bolted up the wheels to check clearance...

Then did abit of a WA just to get it square for the flaring boys to work...

Then came the handbrake adapter, since the S13 ebrake is caliper operated and the R33 assy is shoe/ drum operated the lines didnt quite meet up...you can however buy a plate that makes it all fit but for $50 why bother...just make your own..

From left to right...prototype, modification, final detail

After that I just whacked on some roll bar paint and bolted it up, I have the measurements for fellow members and will upload the pic shortly
