I ran a stunner of a time in my stock BA 1.8 last night at WSID...

16.789 @ 132.58 (82.38mph)

well it stunned me anyways

air temp was 10 degrees and humidity was 96%... it was perfect

can't wait to see what the exhaust and intake do

from memory the BAs are 160kg heavier (correct me if im wrong)...so in hindside...the BGs have better power to weight... ohh and also cause GeeTee is in UK he doesnt have a CAT to slow down the airflow in the exhaust...

correct me if im wrong... but the bg stock 1.8 doesn't have the power of the ba 1.8... so much more power in fact that the 160kg is more than taken car of... and why would you want the exhaust to slow down?

ok... i sorted it out

the bg 1.8 astina had 78kW stock... unless you got the sp which had 92kW stock.

and he's in scotland so it may have varied over their... performance wise he only has exhaust and intake... so he probably has the sp equivalent and his conditions weren't as good... (mine was 10degrees air temp and 96% humidity)

and i had taken out my spare and all my stereo crap... so they're all variables you would have to consider

I have the GT, the same as your SP, but in the UK models before 1992 (mine) had 104 kw (140bhp) and 1992 onwards had a cat and therefore only had 92kw (129bhp).....

And bourbon was refering to exhausts affecting performance coz of the cat, not slowing the car down.

And i don't think the BA has more power than the BG.
The Cat BG's had 129bhp, whereas i believe the BA's had 118bhp...... in the UK anyway.

Jap v6s have 170hp and When I ran mine with 3 broken engine mounts and well and truely worn stock suspension and Aus ECU (meaning the VRIS were positioned in the wrong place in the rev range and I couldn't use the top 1000rpm) I still got a 15.8 with 2.2 60'. A properly tuned JDM v6 with correct ECU and halthy car should hold up a low to mid 15 unmodified
Chuck in a KL-ZE and youre looking at 14s

BUMP

Hi Guys

Just bumping an old thread

I have been tracking 1/4 Mile Times for QLD for a while and a few others but no one has been sending in times of late.

Where I am at so far can be seen at http://snertspeed.pcroom.com/results.htm

It is a great help that you can enter your own times and just email them to me for a cut and paste.
Blank Sheets can be retrived from http://snertspeed.pcroom.com/blank.xls
Once completed just email them over to me snertspeed@gmail.com
Also include your engine/car (eg. SP20, SP18, BP18T, KE16T, etc) and your detail (state,usernick,forum)
Also can you send over a scanned copy of your fastest time slip (so there no questions about who did what)
Also any suggestions, comments or complaints (minimum on these please)

Thanks

Kurt

BJ time....
Previous time was a 17.25, set in October 06.
April 07 - 16.86, with K&N panel filter, cold air feed and Exhaust back box.
Also lowered with 18" wheels....
I'll stick my timeslip up here soon, but if you want to see it now, go to....
www.crailraceway.co.uk
Go to "times" for 15th April and type Neil Farmer into the name box.
