MSF cams v fsde cams

So while looking on protegefaq at the cam specs i noticed that the MSF intake cam ( which is the same as the FSDE(Aus) intake cam) has the same duration and lift as its corresponding exhaust cam, whereas the on the FSDE(aus) the exhaust cam has a shorter duration and lift compared to its intake. So, does the MSF FSZE just use two intake cams and tweak the timing to achieve its specifications? If so, then by using two FSDE(aus) intake cams set correctly you can get the same results as using the MSF cams?

All good. Just confusing.

To answer your question yes you can repin them. Though IIRC they don't end up exactly the same

IT has been done = repined intake or exhaust cams and swapped but normally with addition of adjustable cam sprockets so you can dail them in right using a dail gauge.

Also, are BP cam gears the same as FS/FP cam gears? There's a set on ebay that are advertised as "New MAZDA Miata/MX5/Protege/Escort 1.6L/1.8L cam gears cam pulley x 2pcs"..

no
even if the sizes are the same, the engine won't run because of the sensor pick up points
