Bg astina coilovers

What companies make coilovers for the bg astina? I currently have dms but it's rather low and a little firm for my liking. I'd like something with independent height adjustment if possible

Why not try some softer/longer springs? Cheaper than new coilovers.

I don't think it's gonna do what I want it to. I'd also be selling these to pay for my new ones

I've got a set of the BR coilovers in my BG and you can adjust the height. I've only dropped mine down to about the legal limit of 100mm, but when I put them on the car it looked like factory ride height until I dropped them. So don't worry about slamming the car or anything as they are height adjustable.

Apparently height adjustable coilovers aren't legal unless welded to the correct height... Is that at all true?

Yeh sounds like crap as you can easily adjust most coilovers to sit the car higher than standard. It's only illegal once you drop past 100mm of ground clearance or don't have equipment that meets ADR standards.

Huh? What are you trying to do, and why won't the best coilovers you'll get for a BG do it???

Which model DMS are they, 40mm, 50mm?

The 50mm I'm pretty sure. I got the normal spring rates etc but it rides hard and the rear coil overs are fairly short so the highest it can go is tucking Tyre on a 17. And height adjustment is combined with the spring adjustment

BG Astinas have a different front strut top bolt pattern compared to the Familias and 323 sedans. So unless you got custom strut tops, they aren't meant for BG Astina. Also, the spring rates in my BRs are 6kg front and 4kg rear, which is pretty much perfect for a daily driven track special.

DMS don't come with strut tops so it could be either...

Did you buy them new or second hand? Have they got a combined bump/rebound adjuster, or separate bump/rebound adjustment?

The beauty you've got with DMS is that they're made here, and they're fully customisable, as well as being a genuine competition shock.... If they're not allowing enough ride height, rather than resort to cheap crappy shyte off fleebay, just get new strut bodies or inserts made up, rather than replace everything you've got.

yes and no.

height adjustable is fine, but the adjustment must not allow the car to go under the 100mm minimum allowable clearance.

so JIC, TEIN etc adjust at the spring perch and have a lip that prevents the adjustment at some point.

other coilovers like BC, CUSCO etc do not have the lip as they adjust at the shock feet. and can be lowered to undefined height. hence the illegalness of it.

the way to make them legal, is to weld a lip in the shock the is the position where is make the height 100mm minimum. so it cannot be lowered more than that.

They just have one dial adjustment underneath the strut.
When compared to the standard struts the rears seemed extremely short (shorter the standard front strut)
