VTCS Which models?

I'm aware the 2002 BJ II 1.8L has VICS,..but does it also have VTCS [Variable tumble control system]? From what I can see its used to stabilise cold idling.

tks for any comments,.. Cliff

Thanx for that. From what I've read, they're no great loss, what with the butterfly and screws getting munched up by the motor when they fall apart !

you mean all of the time?

the butterfly screws that fall out are the VICS screws.... you want to keep VICS as it improves driveability and engine efficiency

officially speaking, only early J48s were affected, but there have been many cases of them falling out anyway on cars outside of the affected range... mazda has not admitted fault and therefore refuse to pay for repairs

you can get a screw replacement kit just to be on the safe side... this parts kit was used for the recall mazda issued for the certain J48s

part number is FSY2-13-SRZ
kit includes all necessary replacement gaskets
