Are the 6stackers compatible with normal cd players....
Hey all.
Found out my CD player is rooted, mainly due to running an amp and sub off the stock cd player. I have been hunting round for anotehr one, mazda wreckers would give me one for $350 and mazda would take $550 for a brand newy. I had a look at teh head unit itself, and have come to the conclusion that just the radio unit has died, as the stacker looks to be in still working order. I got thinking, the normal astinas have the single cd unit, i was wondering if u could transfer teh stacker unit onto the single cd unit... would anyone know if this would/could work. im only changing the cd unit, not the fm unit if that makes sense ( it unbolts from the main unit) If this could be done, how much do u think i could pick up a single cd player unit for? I'd really like to know how running an amp screwed it!! Unless you modifed the unit for a line level output.

I believe that the 6 stacker unit is totally different from the single unit. In mine (BJII-J48) the 6 stacker/radio appears to be the main unit and the only bolt-ins/module is for adding a tape/md unit.

when u pull the whole unit out it is, but i unscrewed the 4 pink screws and with some lever action, the stacker came unattached from the main unit. I Have an sp20 aswell so i'd have the same head unit as u... there is a sticker of how to unscrew it on the top of the unit itself.

Might be possible I guess, my memory on this is a little vague but I thought the single CD looked totally different, which is why I was thinking it was unlikely to be a bolt in module....
