Hmm, can't really recommend anywhere to stay in Melb...unless you can afford $500 a night lol. I don't really stay anywhere in Melb.
Will you have a car? The Melb Aquarium is pretty cool, the CBD is always good for shopping. There's an Imax theatre not far away from the CBD... Great Ocean Road trip? Some great scenery and touristy things down that was, but that's a 2 day trip to do properly/well. And the Ford Discovery Centre is in Geelong, which is on the way - and there's some cool stuff there. What sort of things do you want to do?

Just explore the city, trip to the casino, see the sights, relax in a park or by the river or w/e never been so just hang out around the city really... Wont have a car but i like walking and i hear there's a free tram that runs around the place so that shouldnt matter too much....Staying at a place called City Tempo, serviced apartments just built last year, $798 for the week, looks perfect for our needs. So yeh nothing in particular we really wanna do, just the usual tourist stuff...Ride a tram, zoo, casino, botanic gardens, aquarium, shopping, maybe go on that skydeck thing? That should b enough to get us started

when i booked online with virgin blue. i scored a deal with flights and accommodation at crown promenade i think worked out to be $700 for 10 nights. it was a single bedroom with 2 doubles which wasnt bad at all. so in other words. see if you can find deals that are packaged with flights as its not too bad. also virgin blue is having a discount on flights at the moment.
heaps of places to go. cant really recommend anything since i havnt finished exploring melbourne. |

Are you going by yourself ? group of friends or with the misses or family ?
I been there a fair few times - but when with a group of friends, took the great ocean road trip, casino, penguin island (i think its called) , we stayed in some sort of log/cabin, man the beds were small lol but we were realy there for the formula one but depends who you going with really to recommend (look at me talking like i live in melb - lol) |
