NIETHER of those options!
we need to get the proper ones, like about 200mm in diameter and about 10mm at the highest point, so that you can run over them without killing your car (cones actually break cars!) and adds to the fun trying to get the tightest line over the "ripple strips!" "yeah racing" does a set for not much $$ never bothered as one of the other guys had a set of about 10. the other soccer cones fly away in the breeze on concrete too from experience.

I don't think either of those markers/cones would damage a car [much ], they're not overly big or heavy like a full size "witch's hat". But of these two options, I somewhat think the flatter markers are more practical and easier to move around while providing less of an obstacle for the cars. And if a car does hit them [usually low speed when drifting], they might just get nudged around a bit, and not tip/flip over like the cones would likely do. But if you can find a link to markers that you like, please post it up.

I used to go to cannon hill on the southside and still do every now and then. Those guys use some pretty heavy duty rope to lay out the course that if hit hard would do some damage. Fortunately they are all drifting so only going at a slow pace.
Smashed the escudo shell today and cracked all the front especially around the holes for holding it on. Might not be an easy repair so a new shell will be on the cards. Already have my eye on something that you don't see everyday so should be good. Also here is a pic of my chassis: Last edited by RustyKaos; 01-05-2010 at 10:26 PM. |

jarrod... you have clearly never experienced a nimh pack explosion... or you wouldnt be charging the battery in the car...
you guys have much to learn haha! lipos are practially safer if you keep them un-dented and charge them gently.... but i spose then you have to be a bit careful; with runtime etc... and i highly doubt it that you're charging that pack at 6-8A like we used to at the races. markers like this: from amain they are $6 but im sure they are available in australia just having a looksee.

...going to look up "nimh explosion" on youtube now.
Thanks for the pic of the markers, but at $6ea that's about double the price of the flatter markers I found on ebay. If ppl really want the flatter ones, we will have to all put some money in to fund it. Gav. |

I only charge at 1.8A and wait for it to cool down before charging so will not experience the battery exploding and yes I have witnessed it before. I have also witnessed a lipo battery explode which in my opinion is far worse. I will be getting some lipo hard packs soon so will be a lot better than your standard packs.
About the markers thanks a lot Marc will be greatful for making a track. Anyone wanna try the concentric circles again. |

I've got lots of shells, do you want a new unused [no holes drilled] pre-painted R34 Skyline for $15?

i meant $6 for 12 of them but wahtever. shouldnt be much of an issue with a decent car and low speeds :P only when we were tearing around at 60km/hr did it really matter! ill get one sorted asap...
