Bpt

hi, im a member of the uk 323 site, i have a 1.8 BA, and im very lucky as i have come across a 1.8 BPT, im pickin it up at the end of the month, so i havent announced it on the uk forums yet, just incase sumthin goes wrong.

im gettin everythin that i will need to do the conversion, loom, ecu, and the rest of it, i got it for £650 + £100 for removing it.

i have a few questions,

1. does anyone know of any good ways to get the engine in a back of a van without an engine crane?

2. will i need the downpipe or the cat?

3.Can i remove my BA engine and gearbox together, or do i have to get the gearbox out of the way first?

4. can i take the gearbox out from the top?

5. does the BPT engine use the same subframe?

1) with the gearbox off the motor, 2 people should be able to do the job.

2) You should get a custom exhaust done. As long as you have the standard cast dump pipe off the turbo any exhaust shop will be able to make up the exhuast system with a new cat for you.

3) Yes you can remove the engine and gearbox together.

4) Gearbox on it's own...no. Engine and gearbox, yes.

5) Yes.
