Max boost for my bpt?
Hi all, my car gets dynoed tomorrow, it's a stock bpt with a gt2871rs and manifold. Haltec e6x ecu fuel system is beefed up.
Whats the max boost I can run safely? It's a daily driver. I was thinking around 15psi. Any suggestions?

Generally between 16-18psi I think is considered the limit. You should be fine around 15-16 with that decently sized turbo. Just make sure you don't run out of fuel.

As much as your tune allows, really. I think the 2871 gets past its efficiency range at over 20psi, and after that you're just making extra heat.

As long as your engine can handle it. 16psi on one turbo isn't the same as 16 psi on the stock one.

That's my question, can stock internals handle that?

no. from rough calculations between VJ20 vs GT2871RS is 16psi / 13psi. although you tuner if any good should be able to tell you this.
why such a big turbo for a daily car? it'll never get a chance to spool up. |

Smaller exhaust housing, will spool up fine. I will have it tuned at 15psi. That will do me

Stock BPT on 7psi [approx half a BAR] is 138KW at the engine. Mine on 12psi dynoed at 141 wheel HP, but it was setup for a V8 so the amount of power is way wrong. Should be more like 160-170HP at the wheels.
