Lol, all I seem to do is quote between this and the What have you done to your car today? threads.

Pretty much if I was going to do the mod I'd be wanting a bolt in bi-xenon solution that gives really good output out of the box, amongst other reasons...

Yes, yes and yes

It would also allow easier and better replacement of HID bulbs i.e. buying proper Osram etc H1/D2S bulbs from a shop instead of having to buy rebased ones off the Internet. I'd imagine this would be pretty important if you were going to do that, just in case a bulb DID go you wouldn't have to wait for a week to get a new set of bulbs in.

Although the one thing that has become apparent to me is that the S3 Bosch projectors do seem to be better than the Koito ones.

While sailing on the high seas of the Internet I found this as well. It shows you how to make clear plastic lenses for your headlights.

I'm not too sure if I had the patience for that but if you DID do it you could retrofit Morimoto H1s to the high beam as well. Would be a good alternative to people that would be thinking of doing a MX6 headlight mod like Rupe did.

Just got a response from Andrew from theretrofitsource.com.

Looks like the RX350 w/ AFS projector looks like a decent fit and the Morimoto ones would be okay too - but there would need to be some mods to fit.

While I'm at it - this is what I got up to yesterday arvo...

Stab stab. Surprisingly easy to cut through.

After cutting it open.

After using a small square/circular file to tidy up the edges.

It fits!

This bugger is the plug for the front indicator/parker, and is a bastard to plug/unplug. It's located behind the parker.

Before I took the loom out.

Super simple stuff, just splice the new socket in. Make sure you heatshrink everything

Ta-da! Your whole indicator lights up now!

Dunno about drain my battery - added another amber bulb into that socket so the whole lens lights up. That's rustled my jimmies since Day 1 that they didn't populate that socket

I think they look good too - IMO the ADM indicators look like they were never meant to be there, but you gotta make do! $30 for clear indicators vs...I'm not even sure how much a JDM bar is. BRB figuring that out

Back, going for $150AUD not including shipping and no bids :S

I can only imagine it being like $400 landed, plus the need to rewire the front indicators to some 1157 switchbacks with some appropriate LED bulbs. I don't think it will look $400 better

I went and got a quote to get all of my bushings, springs + shocks installed yesterday...$600.

Ouch.

Was about double what I was expecting, but this guy has got an excellent rap from everybody I've asked, and from what I've googled as well. Really nice bloke too.

I did realise when I walked in there though that I had been there once before - I got my Charade 22mm sway bars from Selby's Sway Bars who used to share a workshop with him. They're now in Nowra.

Like this?

I agree, all white all the way. You wouldn't be able to see any orange in the lens with the switchback LEDs anyway.

The JDM ones are on all the time by default (and show amber), from memory - and flash off.

Epic fail. You have a hardtop. LOL. Mine are empty with parkers and indicators in the clear lenses, which I sprayed the inside black, so the look smoked. Also have a. set of genuine fogs if you want to buy them. Message me if you're interested.

I never knew I was that good at Photoshop

What do you guys think? It's between these or waiting for a set of MS01S to pop up again

Also just got my new sway bar links.

Note you'll have more sidewall than your PhotoShop, currently they look like 16's

I don't know how that is considering I fit them exactly to the outline to the existing rims and yes, my wheels are 15s. Just ducked outside and checked, was second guessing myself!

Here's a template if anybody is interested.

The scale and perspective tools in Photoshop are wonderful things. I found that I got a better result by making the new wheel layer more opaque and making the white where the existing rims should be red. Makes it a lot easier to figure out whether or not the wheel is lining up like it should when you're transforming the new wheels. Should also adjust brightness and contrast after they've been fit too, to make sure they look like what they would when they're on the car.

15 vs 16.
15 will win. tyres are cheaper, all types or tyres available. 16s just a poo poo uncommon size nowadays.

and those are a good looking rim. lots of dish.
