Tax Time!
Hey guys,
Well its that time of year, where so of us lucky ones hopefully get a little return! So whats everyone spending there hard earned tax return on? I have already bought a new 50mm camera lense & external hard drive, thinking the rest will go towards the bluebird, cause the SP has had enough spent on it in the past 6 weeks

I've paid crap all tax since my contract at Typo wasn't resigned (Yes, they didn't want me anymore ) so i had a few months out of work and that was just casual work. So the few hundred that i paid will probably go to the panel beater for my lip Paid no tax yet for this financial year

Already got mine. $2200. Would've been $1900 more, but HECS debt exsists. Put is all on the credit card to flatline it. Now get finish the hundreds of jobs to the car that need doing.

Will probably go on all of the consumable parts I need for the rebuild. I'm preparing a long list for a big order from the States. Just need to submit the silly e-Tax thingy sometime this week

Im hoping for $1000. which will pay off the trip to tassie and the rest (along with my $1200 from the govt for my apprenticeship anniversary -THANKS JULIA, up from $500 last time!) will be spent on completing the sound deadening, new upholstery and more tools for work.

I just bought a specced-up iMac with last years tax return.
This year? No idea yet - but something car-related probably.

I'm always astounded how much people get back. Until I worked in my current job, I was looking at maybe $300 tops. I get around $3k or a bit more these days as I have a car allowance that I run my work car from and have full tax taken out and just basically get back around 9k worth of tax deductions due to the car. That's with 2 kids these days and a fair amount of tax deductable donations over the last year.
I'd be curious as to how people do it, my wife is a chartered accountant so I get the maximum amount but I had dodgy mates at uni (ie all of a dept there really) that would get the same as me now with all kinds of phoney stuff so I really wonder how much is legit. As for the money, it will go partly towards next work car as per usual in a few years and also to part pay out the little bit leftover from the last one as I changed over a tad early in the plan. My wifes will go to something rivetting like our mortgage, we are both too practical. |

Getting the lowest I've had for ages thanks to being in a stock standard job and earning within my limit for once instead of being paid like a poor ass apprentice.
Paying off the tiny bit of debt I have and saving for rims/tyres/future house n stuff. Rims and Tyres are because I've finally ragged out my BobJane AllRound ****house tyres |
