Thats a how long is a piece of string question.
What do you plan on doing for computer, intercooler, exhaust, intercooler piping etc. Money can range from $3000 to $10000 depends on what bits you buy.

allow $5k to do the basic conversion (this is if you buy a half cut with no box)

I would be buying a GTX Engine (not half cut) for $1200 and a Microtech ECU for $1000 and doing it that way.

do ichiban really sell just engines for 1k?? are they good condition coz thats sounds crazily cheap to me!
i was just looking for a basic gtx conversion with a frontmount and maybe a microtech computer, i was just looking for how much people paid for their engines so i basically know how much i am looking at spending

Dont forget the plumbing for the turbo, the std plumbing will fit in ur BA, also the std I.C will fit but its not front mounted and is very small oh and the AFM engine loom....
Do you have a G series gearbox or F series? Ben P.S my clip was £900, thats $2,192

Well i did the conversion in a bg and here were my expenses:
Front Cut: 2k labour: Bits, softdrink, etc. I had a couple of good mates help me. HD Clutch + Flywheel machine: 400 Exhaust: 700 - I got a really good deal on a 3" straight through system. Expect to pay bout 1k. Consumables: 400 New Rubber (You might not think it, but will your old rubber really stand for the extra power?): 600 New Front Shocks: 300 The rubber and shocks you can do without, so if I had not needed them, my conversion woulda cost me about 3k. But Thats done on a budget with the standard ECU and free labour. If you plan to pay someone to do it, expect to pay about 1 - 1.5k. Any more I think would be a rip off. I also feel like I have forgotten something important... |
