V6 Intake

Hey Guys,

I was thinking of doing a CAI or something similar to this:

http://www.club323f.com/club323f/for...tephens+intake

Has anyone done something like this for the v6. I have seen alot of CAI's done
for the 4cyl but not the V6. I assume the principles are transferrable, ie
location of air intake. I'm more interested in the dimensions/problems associated
with the use of rigid tubing combined with silicone joints.

Cheers!

Hey, I've done something similar on my K8 30x, it doesn't look like there would be many differences with CAI it's mostly all the same. What was it that you actually wanted to know?

EDIT: Sorry didn't read properly: as long as you can get intercooler piping to be about the size of your throttle body intake you will be fine as far as the diameter goes for the CAI. If you use hose clamps along with silicon connectors for the pipes the whole system will be rigid and will not move around. That is it will move around - but you will not have to worry about your intake coming, if that's your question. As I said, most CAI systems are in principle the same, for your particular car you simply have to find the correct location for it, that is all. Hope this helps.

Cheers guys.

It seems that one of the traders on club323F is manufacturing a kit for the v6's atm. I'll have a look at what he comes up with.

Thanks

why would you buy a kit???

you can have a more appealing AND cheaper system if you do it yourself!
be creative and unique. i found that by doing everything myself it made me love it 5x as much!

but i guess different people do it differently.

good luck with it anyway.
