Hey,

I bought a GTX half-cut recently from Asian Auto Spares in Slacks Creek, they had three in stock when I purchased mine, cost me $1800.00 for the cut without g/box.

Yeah - as said before, ROLIN imports down gold coast is good - japparts.com.

I bought my BPT engine from them - was mint for $1100. Engine only.

$1800 for a cut sounds good

Some places will install it but don't expect it to be cheap.

Asian Auto spares are a good choice, unfortunately they give no warranty but my motor has worked out fine so go for it

Hi Tublade,

Just to throw a few names around, have you tried CNJ Motorsport or The Brock Shop? CNJ aren't interested in my car until I spend the big $$$, but since you're doing a turbo job, maybe they will be keen? www.4wddyno.com is were they are online. The Brock Shop are pretty busy and can't see my car for another week or so. But the Joe Argiro there seems eager to see my car, and has not snubbed it for being a 4cyl non-turbo!
I'm located at Mt Gravatt, where abouts are you, wouldn't mind finding other people on the forum from the southside, everyone seems to be across the river!

Gav.

i'm on the southside live in woodridge, i'll try these places today and see who much if they're cheaper then i'll go ahead, if not i might just put off the conversion until i have enough moeny to do so, i might just go ahead and get the bodykit, and some new rim before then,

Hi,

My engine conversion down in Newcastle cost me $1200 for the mechanicals and I had someone else do the wiring for $700 (would have been $500 but wiring guy had to come from Sydney 2hrs each way)

Just thought I give you an idea of what price I paid for a comparison on your current quotes

Cheers

Simon

I credit you for getting it done cheap but what apart from your motor did you
get for $1200. That sounds enough to get you motor, ecu, afm and coil what
did you use for piping or exhaust or intercooler, bov etc etc.

BigMal,

The half cut cost me 1800.00 + freight from Brisbane, the installation cost are what I am quoting above as I assume TUBLADE has already got his motor sourced.

Everything else I used with the conversion was standard from the GTX half-cut.

Cheers
Simon

yes, i'm getting the motor from Asian Auto Spare in slacks creek gonna cost me $1700, then for the install i got quoted $3300 which i reckon is way too much just for the straight forward install that you guy have been talking about. he said that there was alot of messing around with the wires, exhaust, and misc (a/c, powerstearing) and maybe change the clutch, that price includes labour. then an extra amount if i want the intercooler fitted in the centre, not on the side. i reckon that he's just trying to rip me off.
