ACT/NSW Cruise ideas
After whipping up Sydney on the weekend, on the spur of the moment I might add, we had a really good time!
It was great to meet the OzMazda club guys n gals, and there was ever so brief mention of a cruise down south between Sydney and Canberra. I put up a suggestion on the OzMazdaClub forum for a meetup at Berrima. Seems to be a bit of interest already, so I figure why not give a chance for some of the AstinaGT members around Canberra that don't get to go on many cruises or get togethers, a chance to meet up with some other cool people and mazda owners? What about some of our Wollongong members? *I miss OddRod* Around the end of November looks like the timeframe. Nothing too flash, just a meet up and probably a BBQ. Take lots of piccies, conversation and laughter! Sounds like a goer to me anyways |

Yes, I finally met Ezzy. He's going well [/OT] Looks like there is a lot of interest for a Berrima Cruise, so c'mon you AstinaGT members, it was great to see you representin' at Bobbin Head, lets keep it up. All you Canberra members, this is a chance to get off our frozen butt's now that the weather appears to be picking up. There were a lot of really great people on the OzMazda Club cruise, and I know you will all have a great time. So c'mon, you know you want to |

I probably won't be able to make it for a while. I've been chasing a lean / misfire issue to no avail for a while now. I guess I should take it to get dyno'd or something...

Working on it Dogo, there are many folks saying they want a cruise halfway between Sydney and Melbourne. Any thoughts?
Holbrook? Albury Wadonga is more than halfway I think. Does anyone know where halfway between the two are? As for this cruise, I want to see some BA's there!!!! I can't believe I was on a Mazda Cruise and there were no BA's!! This is so wrong on so many levels!!!!!!! |

It's tiny but it should be a great place to meet up. Apparently there is a really nice lolly shop too! Bit of an update for everyone: Premature Xmas Party!!! We have a Santa, and we have food preparation delivery and we have interest! Lets get it happening! It's the last weekend in November. And I think everyone that comes should bring a gift wrapped pressie to go in Santa's sack, but lets set a limit on it. Kinda like the ol secret Santa, but just something fun and not expensive ok? Say a $5 or $10 limit? A lucky dip kinda thing. Santa calls your name, and you take a dip in the sack, and you MUST open the gift there and then. Whatchya all say about that one? I think this is a fantastic opportunity for some fun, and there are some awesome ways to travel to Berrima from Sydney too. I need someone from Sydney to organise that end, with a route plan and meet ups. We should all be together in Berrima by lunchtime, so hopefully that won't have us all on the road at sparrow fart, unless we get travellers from QLD and VIC. (which personally I hope we do, it's the way to keep the club a close knit group and we will keep the motivation up for bigger cruises like Albury and maybe a northern one to Coffs Harbour or Port Stephens or similar) AND I WANT TO SEE SOME BA's THERE, please? If everyone chips in and does a bit for the day, we will have a great time for everyone, and we can get some more fantastic photo's of the cars too. As soon as we finish nutting out some of the final details, we can get it all organised. Should be awesome!!! |

Well it looks like we are also busy on the last weekend in November, so does anyone have any objections to the weekend of the 19th/20th?
Sorry for the confusion, I'm usually confused, it's just the degree that varies Rob: so what's happening for your big occasion? Hope it's a good one |

bumpage.
Well my car seems to be running ok again (knock n wood). I hybrid my distributor wiring with the distributor from my early jap spec motor and it's not missing anymore (must be ignition module - for the 3rd time in 5 years!). Anyway, I'll spend a little while running in the head gasket - which may take a while seeing as I'm not driving in to work anymore, but yeh.... Moral of the story is tentatively count me in for cruisin' unless something else goes wrong...8). I probably should pull my finger out and make it to an OMC cruise too, one day... |

Nice work nalawa!
Glad someone could sort that out for us There is a change in dates for the Berrima get together: Date: Sunday 20 November 2005 at Berrima for a BBQ... Venue: River Reserve Oxley St... Time: from 11.30am onwards Link: http://www.highlandsnsw.com.au/towns/berrima.html Flick thru the link and you will come across the venue.. There will be a Santa as well... To make it interesting a suggestion from yours truly is that everyone turn up with a present at the value of NO more than $10 and wrapped. All pressies will go in Santa's Bag and everyone will have a turn at choosing a gift. We should organise for a Tarcutta cruise next year, Mexican v's the rest of us Meet LOL |

ok, there has been a change of plans.....
The 20th is Marques in the Park at John Knight Memorial Park in Belconnen. You'll never guess what we have been given for the day..... nope..... I have to tell you otherwise I will burst.... We will have a BRAND NEW MX5!! The new model!!! It will be the official launch of the new MX5 in the ACT!!! I am pretty excited about it. Anyone interested in joining in on a big Mazda display? There will be a marquee and all sorts of stuff. I have posted the changes over at OMC and here is the link: http://www.ozmazdaclub.com/forums/sh...354#post100354 This sounds like a better idea than Berrima, lol!! Anyone keen? |
