Possible to fit a F2t into a 1994 BA hatch 2.0 ?
My engine is starting to blow a bit of smoke and i dont like it also I feel i am not getting the power out of my V6 that i could be getting, I have a friend who has a spare F2t 2.2ltr turbo... i was just wondering if that little thing would fit into my car?
please say yes lol if not i suppose i should start looking for a KL, with a turbo of course thanks |

Is it possible?
Yes. Anything is when you throw enough money at something. It is easy? No. You'd need a 626/MX6 gearbox, custom gearbox and engine mounts, custom driveshafts... Comparitively easier to drop in a V6 KL03 or KLZE into your car, as there's no change to your gearbox. A few threads about that around. If you had a 1.8 then the BPT would be the easy option.

You wont find a KL with a turbo
It was never done except in the 626 concept car (never released) You would even find rocking hose doo doo easier to come across than an enthuasiast selling his custom turbo setup Buy a KL03 (not ZE unless you plan on new pistons) and then purchase your own turbo kit, clutch etc Nice little way to spend $6k min |

Well I dont have a 1.8, so there is little point in me going backwards :P and am i right in thinking there be a fair bit of work to go from 6cyl to 4cyl ? the good part is i already have the engine, like 5 km's from my house, but its still a four cylinder so i am not so sure now, maybe i should just give up on the turbo idea?

Really, dropping in the 2.5 V6 from an MX6 (160hp or 200hp for the JDM engine) would be the easier answer for you in my opinion. It virtually drops straight in, and with a decent exhaust you'd have a fun little package.
I know you can get the F2T easily, but is it really worth the trouble of fabricating all you'd need to? But, if you can do it all yourself then i suppose then that's different.

Add to that I am pretty sure the F2T gearbox will have problems with fitment to driveshafts etc
Just think though how much fun it would be to go from 24valves in the v6 to 12 valves in the F2T |

well I can tell you now
Stick to the K series motor why because Either of the F motors the 2.2L or the 2.0L DOHC import with turbo will eat boxes. Now there is only one box to take the 2.2 L turbo and it's the h- series and it's rare and it's BIG. I mean Big. it's internals are as big as you would find a in VL turbo gearbox. Not you can fit it but why ? would it fit in a Ba - NO it's too tall. think of XR-8 BA falcon bonnet bulge. you mgiht say what it's long strong and it sits high - toyota got the camry/ celica 2.2 in becasue they tilted it. a Kl-Ze will give you plenty any more and IMO it's waste in FWD platform. oh and Boostedbatman a F2T fun is not about sound. Nor top end charge A F2T is only about one thing MONSTER TORQUE - not Kw's noth anything else, it's about V8 Cubic inch bottomend, it's about the car steering it self into on comming traffic I've driven Kl-03's Kl-ZE and the most annoying of all the KF all manual and all auto. but I just come back to the n/A F2 2/2L with auto box. It used less fuel then the KF auto it carried a slighlty heavier body - yet I didnt' have to rev it of the line or drive it to do the job |
