Which B8 do I have?
Hey guys, I've just got my 1991 Mazda 323F BG and the previous owner had the engine swapped. It used to be a BP but it's now a B8... but I don't know which B8 it is, cause it certainly doesn't feel like 103hp... instead it feels like driving my Honda Odyssey which is about 165hp... I know the B8 has two variants, 103hp and a 165hp, how can I tell?

uhhh... there's only one and one only
the B8 has always been SOHC... if it's DOHC, it's not a B8

You have this engine
1989–1994 – 1.8 L (1,800 cc) B8, FI, 16-valve SOHC, 103 hp (77 kW; 104 PS) / 108 ft·lb (146 N·m) Im not sure if this engine even exists!!! 1991–1994 – 1.8 L (1,800 cc) B8, FI, 16-valve SOHC, 165 hp (123 kW) The details on wikipedia where you cut and pasted this from is wrong, this info is most likely been mixed up with the info for the BPT from the standard GTX. |

Dont waste time or money on it, save your $$$$ towards a better car or engine.
Best NA mod you could do is find a DOHC EFI BP engine out of a BG Astina SP and int\stall that. |

How about turbo'ing this? Will it hold up to a low boost say 7-8psi?
